Yeah, I saw that... I guess i'm lucky I have what I have. It didn't make the list.

OSI is a good brand from what i've heard. I have only used (am using now) their FDBW. If my angelfish had their way, they would eat nothing but.

Hikari goes without saying. It is usually a good way to go.

This is why I won't use HBH products anymore. A good food company would know what's going into their food.

I use Hikari and OSI.

I got some bad food from that list. My LFS didn't even know about the recall so when I brought the food in to get my money back they wouldn't do it. I even printed the info on the website out.:irked:

Still, I use the HBH soft and moist spirulina. Only other pellets I use are sinking Cichlid Gold from Hikari and Omega One's stuff.

My fish get a lot of live worms, crayfish, crabs, shrimp, and frozen/freeze dried stuff. Veggie eaters get dried nori and greens from the produce section of the supermarket.

do you guys prefer the hikari food sticks, hikari sinking carnivore,or hikari cichlid bio gold more?
this pertains particularly to cichla.
just wanna know.
ive tried the bio gold and sinking.
i mix them together when i feed.
i cant tell which my bass like more cause theyll eat both just as tenaciously.
which is better for color as well?
Hikari sinking carnivore is my main staple for all my cichla and bichirs.

I also feed beef heart , brine shrimp , blood worms , super worms , chopped shrimp ,crickets , And lots of chopped silver sides
I feed twice a day the first feeding is one of the above
And the second is always sinking carnivore

I got tired of Jumbomin staining the water so now I mostly use Hikari stuff. When it comes to flake food I totally beleive the hype of Omega One with their ingredients,I also use Wardley flakes cause they are cheap and are a local company.

I have a question. It pertains to using shrimp.

Can I go to like walmart or Kroger, well maybe Kroger not sure if Walmart shrimp is even like real, lol. Can I just buy a bag of frozen shrimp and use it. I here people buying shrimp, well is it okay to just buy the bag version and thaw it in cold water, and presto my Oscars will love me. :)

You can as long as its raw and nothing has been added to it,extra salt ,seasonings.Cooked,no good.
