Fish Money?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
lol, its funny, i got birthday money just now.
Spent $300 yesterday on fish, 2nd hand display tank from store, filters ph testers etc and about 25 new fish!
I am stoked, i love money! And i cant wait, when i sell my car im getting a huge tank.
I cant save up at all though, it sucks, when i have more money than usual i spend it all on fish haha.
There is no budget, the only budet is the amount in my wallet haha

just pm dovi88, he'll hook you up with a jardini ;)

Im still thinking bout getting one, I may see if the LFS will do a trade for my 8-10" silver aro. Although I dont hold out hope Since my Aro has crappy looking fins.

so I guess it does make sense to everyone that when odphelo and I started stocking our 75 gallon tank that we went with relatively inexpensive community fish until we have the bugs worked out of keeping a tank this size. We'd be more upset over losin an expensive fish that it would distract us from finding the root of the problem as to the loss of the fish in the first place. Inexpensive fish that we're familiar with seemed like the way to go when getting started with a bigger tank and different type of filtration. Eventually we'll get into the bigger more costly fish, hell, probably end up goin saltwater too, but for now we're keepin the budget low and investing our money in quality supplies.

Im spending alot now cause Im getting back into the hobby, setting up tanks.I hunt for bargains always buy used tanks.Fish I like to buy as small as possible and watch them grow
Its a good ting banks and credit card company's don't consider fish and fish stuff to be a liquid assets. I've been bankrupt 4 times already.

unless im getting a breeding pr, i go for small fish to grow out. my 2 most costly fish were wild fronts and peacocks (damn hurricanes). i can add cobras too, they were a coulnt resist buy.

I do trades, i breed and i work. All i need now is a nice house with a yard and its C's Aquria time. Best timing since my cousin came back and knows how to design homes. I already have my main fish room planed with plumbing and all.

i dont have an unlimited amount of money too spend but the way i look at it is a work hard for my cash so if i see something i want i will get it within reason.
i also like picking stuff up cheap i was not on the lookouut for rays yet 2 came up for sale cheap so i bought them sometimes you have to do it.
one thing i did was stop smoking last year (20 a day at $6 a pack) and used my cigs money to buy fish and i racked up quite a collection.
i have spent quite a bit recently butu that will stop soon very soon actually.

As I said in another thread, the minimum wage here is almost U$140 per month! And i get a little more. And the fishes and equipments are very expensive!
So I use to save for a long time to buy anything I want!
For example, my tanks use biological filters only, except for ray's tanks, that uses external filter. It's all simple! But i use to buy some replacements equpments!
Fishes I look for some differents, so I have to save a lot!
For example, a leopoldi ray costs U$200, a albino bichir U$100, they are my expensive fishes! I have plecos, angelfishes, and others that are cheap, like as U$1.
I limit my purchase, for example, a jardini here costs U$500, so I'll never ger one!

depends on the fish. if i want it bad enough i'll buy it. right now i'm saving up to move and get my own place so no more fish for now. If i the fish will out grow my tank i will not buy it, even though i want it. I reallly like rtc but i won't get one because i will not be able to provide what it needs. food for the month is approx. $25 to $30.

Wow , to think youre already in Brazil.

Dixon - i also believe in rewarding myself from time to time. Guess what i buy to reward myself? :D

hey redtailfool, here there isn't any big store or breeders! So you have to fish them or import! Could you belive that? and that's why it is so expensive!
