Fish Money?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
well I have a part of my budget that is for my "pet stuff" and then it all goes from there:)

my budget till now has been how much i earn in a month, doing my internship now
so i do go crazy sometimes like i recently picked two fish, one was 125$ and the other was 150$
but thats just me.
but from now on i have no more space and my fish are breeding left right and center ,as camphilophus puts it, and i have nearly 500 fry growing out
which i don't know what to do with :nilly: :nilly: :nilly:

ive only just starte out and i only have a 14 gallon rekord 60 however i am spending left right and centre at the min with test kits plants fish plus the tank and stand and water conditioners.

but for me fish are cheap because i can only buy small ones i plan to have another tank setup soon but much bigger than i have

Here's how my wife and I do it. Her hobby is dogs, mine is fish. We both have our own Bank of America checking/saving accounts. We have it set up so what ever amount we spend, it's rounded up to the nearest dollar, and tossed into the savings account. (IE I spend $1.25 on a drink, checking deducts $2, sending the other .75 to my savings/fish fund)

I havnt used my own money for fish in a long time. I try to just use money from selling fish to buy fish, or trade. Fish arent that important for me so I have no problems turning down a fish I REALLY want if the price isnt good. There are more important things in life like rent, daycare, food, ect...
