Am Planning to build a FishRoom with an indoor pond 24' long by 7' wide and 4' deep with water about 3' depth. This will be a concrete pond build up with the contractor doing all the works. except for the filters materials, plumbing and naturally the fishes.

Will be posting some diagrams and thoughts on the layout over the coming days. Any suggestions would be welcome.

Half in ground, half above with seating around the top.

Bakki waterfall filter at one end or side.

Tile sides and bottom with a mosaic MFK in the center (if you do this I could put you up for a life time membership in the Monster Aquaria Network.)

Keep us updated,

Dr Joe

Thanks for the ideas do keep them coming and will respond to them when the thinking cap is on. In the meantime here are some basic drawings of the layout for the fish room with the indoor pond. The outdoor section may be used later for more tanks.

The pond will be dug 2' into the ground and with 2' brick wall above the ground. Filter will be outside the room to make use of the available sunlight.

When filled with water to 3 feet should have a nice viewing angle hopefully when standing around the pond.

The outside filter thinking of using some water plants prehaps to absorb some of the waste products.

Will have to make a list of the things to be done asap such as filter, aeration, pumps, lights, plumbling.

The seating and the MFK logo mosaic is very enticing Dr. will have to consider it very seriously LOL....

Def. a monster....

This is what i have on the conditions at the site.

Water table is appox 4' below the surface. There is a 3' deep municipal drain behind the house and in the drawing it is at the back of the fish room.

Location is malaysia so we have the usual equatorial enviroment meaning a year round temp of 28-33 deg celcius with just a dry or wet season.

Aim of the pond is to hold a mixture of Asian arowanas, Pink Nile Tilapias, Pacus, Few Kois, some mosquito fishes (Guppies), and assorted african cichlids.

Presently the tilapias,Pacus, african cichlids, 1 (One) koi are housed in two different tanks as in this pics.

Quantity is 30 Pink Tilapias, 9 Juvinile Pacus (10"), 6 Asian Arowanas (12")
plus other small fishes.

Any other type of fishes possible with this mix??
