  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The Filter Mats measured 1 meter by 2 meters were cut into 5 pieces measuring 20" by 30" These were then stacked together and placed on top of the plastic supports in the filter sections.

Hope that the pictures showed them clearly.

Some cement blocks were place on top of the mats to hold them in place against the water flow.

In the pictures they are the little cement cubes in the water on top of the filter mat.

Next up the Water pump was tested and the water flow over the various filter sections was checked. You can see the water movement from the ripples shown in the following pictures.

The water Pump Test, Water Flow through the various sections of the Filter section one thru six. The indoor pond inflow to the outside filter section thru the main filter and then back thru the two 2 inch holes back to the indoor pond.

More pictures of the final water fill and this time with the fishes being added a few days later.

Big Cichlid and the First Pacus together with lots of Gold Fish, Mosquite fishes (Guppies) and also more than 100 Jewel Cichlid. Hard to see them here as they are rather small compared to the others.

The water look rather nice from this angle for the first few days before the fishes are added.

First one to go in are the Gold fishes picture 4 the red stuff in the middle of the picture. Then the white cichlids and then the pacus. (one seen here among the broken pots.) last picture the black fish

The fishes being added to the Feeder Section.
Large Cichlids, Gold Fishes, Guppies, Silver Feeders, Pacus.

Filter Section added more media this time with black open core sponge and coarse jap mat. Another view of the Sump and pump section with a small pump for testing the various flow rates. Notice that the 2nd backup pump have not been installed yet, this will come in later when the bakki type showers are installed.

Final pictures of the new fishes. Please note that at this moment the walls are still clear of any algae growth and hopefully we can get a good coating on the walls in the coming weeks as this part is exposed daily to the sunshine. Will post on this when the time comes.

Bags of 20kg pelleted feed stock were used twice a day for the pacus, goldfish and large cichlids.

And here are the pictures of the indoor pond with the arowanas being added together with lots of feeder fishes.
The aros are now at one year and size is 12 - 14 inches in length.

The black circle shows the feeders all in a shoal.

More indoor pond pictures with the arows and some hiding places at the corner of the filter water inlet for the feeders. The pictures are rather shaky as this part of the pond is inside the fish room and light is not very bright.

It is 2 week after the fish was added.

The algae growth are starting to show on the walls. Water is still clear however expect to change yellowish due to the feeds being added. When the Shower filter is added this should be cleared up.

The pacus, various cichlids and Koi seem to have adapted well for the moment.
There are also the usual pleco and mosquite fishes.

Final pictures after 2 weeks. The filter media are still clear of the fish waste as it is still too early at this stage. Maybe after 2 or 3 months.

The filter media was seeded with bacteria from the old glass pond. This was done by taking the filter media and washing away the waste using the old pond water. The washed media was then sandwich between the new ones in the outside filter section. The coarse media you see in this pictures are taken from the previous filter. This should give a jump start to the bio activity instead of waiting 8 weeks or more for them to mature.

I would be off the net again as it seem that the new provider is also not able to provide a good service. Will be back probable after a month or so as it seems that i do not have a choice and will have to wait for the physical telecom cables to reach the premises. Rather slow services aaarh...

Till then, will keep taking pictures and also updates when i am able.

Thanks for all the comments. will respond next time.

My favorite at the moment quote. " Arapaima ate him"
