Having an afternoon free brought some 1.5" long pvc pipping and set up the new pump to test the water flow. Hope that the water delivery is enough for the pond. Currently using MFK conversion with the following dimensions 24' by 6' by 2' water depth giving appox 8,155 liters / 2,150gallons. The pump capacity is 12,000 gallons at 5' height.
This simple setup actually took me 2 days to complete.
The rest of the filter trays and build would take probably longer as will have to sit down to design them with the proper heights and sizes for each layer. So do wait a while i put a bit of cpu power to work.
The pics show the long piping from the pump to the shower head. View is from outside the old filter section. The final photo show the 3" pvc piping shower with 8mm holes done. over the actual pond. The crates are used to get an idea of the height for the trays. Looks like can only accomodate 3 layers at the moment.
This would be left running over the next few days to verify the water levels from the main pond and the outside filter section.
If you look closely at the outside piping section there is a retro fitted long 3" piping below for the water coming back from the main pond to the old filter mats. This would be use to create a little waterfall for the outside section. The idea is to provide more aeration. There is a little loss of water height. will provide some photos of this later when the entire system is completed.
Till the next few days cheers. and happy reading
