Fish tank weight

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I just got a new 40" led tv, its 15lbs I love it. ^^^

To the topic, bigs 1st page was all the advice your going to get, you should know by now how it ends.... If you live in a Adobe hut then I would consider upgrading your floor, just put the tank next to the wall and it'll be fine!

*Go S. Vettel #1 RBR! 3 BACK TO BACK WDC AND CONSTRUCTERS!

You're using it as a reference so, it must matter to the topic. There were no 72" CRT TVs back then. Rear projection 72" TVs weighed in at around 200lbs. Still a far cry from 1000lbs.

Omg this is such a hassle. Its likke being interrogated. No I'm not answering every single off topic discrepancy just stick to the original topic plz.

You think this is a hassle? Everyone of your threads is like playing 20 questions to the nth degree. You never divulge all of the background information. More times than not, you back-peddle over information that you do provide due to exaggeration and fabrication. And, the remainder of the time is spent arguing with recommendations and examples provided to you by knowledgeable members looking to help or ignoring the thread with any kind of feedback for the information offered.

Since everyone seems to be misinformed about your setups please do us a favor and list all of your tanks for us. I am politely asking you to provide size(preferably) dimensions instead of just gallons, are they on stands or not, location of said tanks in house(ex. bedroom, living room, basement), and also stocking and filtration for each tank would also be beneficial. This way there will be a list we all can reference whenever there are questions being asked and answered. I am not trolling you, mocking you, or doing anything else besides being helpful...but if you want help then you must help us help you. If you fail to provide such a basic list that almost all fishkeepers should be able to make off the top of their heads then from this point forward I shall always refer to you as Darius Jr.

Im confused.........on page one you said you lived at home with your parents, then further down the page you said you lived on your own, but you still couldn't use the garage? maybe I missed something.

options
1) rebuild your house
2)fill the tank 1/4 full and keep turtles
3) put the tank downstairs.

If a structural engineer told you you were above the limit, no amount of questions here is going to change it. Sounds like you're waiting to hear what you want to hear, but you haven't. Best of luck!

Ok fine I will answer...

I live with my parents. I don't recall saying that I live alone save for a comment about a large garage and being unable to use it. Rebuild my house? Lmao that's hilarious. I don't own a hoyse my parents do. Besides I couldn't afford anything even remotely close to a house remodel. I'm 15. Downstairs? Parents say no. I've tried everything in the book. The structural engineer thing has already been Explained. That was for the downstairs kitchen. The numbers are way different.

This would make a goody sticky for every page, so we will always have your specs at our fingertips. That way we could help you more accurately. It would also help to include the GPS coordinates of your hose and pictures of each room with dimensions.
Thank you in advance for your cooperation.

Possible tank size:
110, 125, 120, anywhere between 110-125
Custom is a possibility. Stand can be of any material. Doors would be best I think. But not required.
Dims;
Length; 5'-7'
Width; 16"-24"
Height; under 24", must be over 16" tall.
Filtration; Rena xp3, ac110, +1 filter
Heater; 600watts
Lights; probably t5
Planted tank
Stock;
Synodontis
Largish cichlids
Peaceful/semi-agressive
Location; upstairs, in a 14' X 14' bedroom, white shag carpet
Other furniture in this bedroom
Queen size bed
Wood dresser containing 2x 20g high, this is parallel to the big tank opossite side of room.
Corner desk made of cheap extremely light weight pressed wood 3g tank on it. Computer.
Night stand containing lamp next to bed. Cat litter box and a cat scratching post 40"+ tall. Closet outside of 14' X 14'. Very small.

Considering your weight restrictions and the fish you'd like to keep I would recommend a longer tank rather than a deeper tank. If put correctly, perpendicular to the floor joists, I don't see any reason why you couldn't have something like a 100 gallon long, which i believe is 72" x 18" x 17".
