can put prime in tank before adding the water just fine, no reason to treat before hand, dose the tank and fill.

Right on. Actually didn't know that. Atleast in the buckets I can get the temp right but I might start doing that

It's a small tank. It's the substrate that makes water changes a hassle.

I do 50% on my 80 once a week and that is more than sufficient I have been doing this hobby for 45 years and never had a promblem with weekly water changes of 50 % . Even did 50% on my goldfish tank a 75 and had them for years. Are you overfeeding possibly?
to each there own, I am an older guy, and my Saturday water changes are one of my more relaxing things to do. :)

I hear ya. Yea I really don't mind doing them.I can definitely understand the peaceful aspect of it. It's more a time thing than anything for me.

if you are using a water system like a python or the likes, can feel the water before flipping the valve to fill to mach the tank. if I had to fill 450g of water like I do now with buckets, I would only have a 1g nano tank with a betta.

Yea no bucket lifting for me. I got 2 40 gallon rubber maid trash cans on wheels i fill with a hose than a pond pump that pumps from the Trash cans to the tank. I sypthon the water to a drain

I would not even do that myself, the easier something is to do, the more likely we are to do it consistently.
