Hands down dogs. I have 3. A Lab/Border Collie Mix, a German Shepherd/Husky mix, and a Miniature Schnauzer. Fish are great and have great personalities, but are not in the same league as "my best friends". My dogs are my kids. If I had to choose, dogs would come out on top 100% of the time, regardless of my situation.

i think that dogs have more personality, and for the Q about whicjh i would rather just randomly get out od nowhere would be dog, cause i could just get fish later cause theyre cheaper.

Dog no questions. My Belgian Tervuren greets me at the door with friendship and companionship, the fish on the other had only associate a human with food. Don't get me wrong I would never get rid of my Pikes or other cichlids but they will never no companionship and friendship, Only feed me.

dog by far i have two dogs a mutt thats half beagle and a thousand other southern hunting dogs the mutt is mine and my parents have a full bred beagle shes old and has some health proublmes but both the dogs are always happy to see me and will play with me for hours and hours. my fish are cool but they dont wake me up and go for walks or bring me dead stuff.

I agree with most of the rest, in general, dog hands down...but i have seen some pretty damn personalityless dogs, and had some fish with a lot of damn personality as well.... hell my oscar used to swim around my hand when I was moving things in his tank, and made sure that no other fish dare come near me, thing was like a guard dog. Chased all the others away when they did come near. That fish had more personality than some dogs i have seen, and one dog that i have had...so its an individual thing...but dogs win personality, if i had to choose between dog and fish though....FISH!
