SPOTS FISHED-1

TIME FISHED-6.25 HRS

FISH LANDED-I-6/Dennis-6

I'm calling this post "should of took my dumb behind to work" :irked:

Woke up to go to go to work but when I looked at the weather for the rest of the week, I seen that its supposed to rain until Monday. So I called off and then called Dennis to see if he wanted to go to the 'Amazon"

He was down and at 11:45 the journey started. He landed two right off the back. I on the other hand was tring to catch something big with the jig. The jig did got me my first about a hour later but it was only a 15'er. Shortley after I tied on a brand new dancing eel(4"). On my first cast with it BAM a decent size CP jumped right on it but when I went to set the hook the line must of been in the fishes mouth cause all I brought back to the boat was my line:irked::irked:. I was alittle upset about the fish taking my lure cause that was the second dancing eel that a CP cut off. So I tied on a crank bait and moved on.

Like I stated "I should of took my dumb behind to work" cause it wasnt my day. Finnally I was over losing a fish and my new lure but soon as I was calming down, one of my poles fell in the water and I was unsuccessful with tring to fish it out:irked::irked:. Now im so heated that even catching a 3.1lb CP shortley after the pole went over didnt really cheer me up but it was fun!! By this time we were at the beginning of the big finger of the lake where Dennis caught two more and I was able to get my thrid. Best believe Dennis would not let me forget he was winning today. The bite was in the finger was slow but Dennis banged another before we could make it back out the main lake. Once we were back out in the open water I banged one on the crank bait(sexy shad). We fished on and Dennis got another one on the day bringing the totals to 6 for Dennis and 4 for me and he was rubbing it in all day but that was ok cause before we made it back to the boat launch, I pulled two bass off one brush pile tieing it up 6-6 on back to back cast.

Lost a pole,a new lure, and almost got out fished but I still had fun!!!

What happened?

They put herbicides in the water trying to control the hydrilla and O.D. on it and ended up wiping out all the Lily Pads. Some of that area out in the middle was only like 2ft deep and we'd have Bass to 5+ lbs hitting weedless top water lures especially just a bit after first light or before dusk. Hell it was such as great spot in May and early June that didn't matter what you through, you could drag an pop bottle through there 4 or 5 times you get a hit. But, now we've spent four hours on the lake and not more than 5 fish between us.

But I know they'll be back someday, for all the lakes in this developement are connected by large concret pipes some only 2ft across others 4ft~5ft across.

Very nice!!

You guys are so lucky that the bass in your area are bigger. The weather is changing fast here and cause of work I'm limited to the weekend. Let's hope that's all I'll need to get that 5lb+ I've been hunting all season. The biggest I've landed was 4.9 but I'm not giving up until the water is frozen!!
