FISHING SEASON 09!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Na , when I came out with ths thread it was mainly a journal for me but I called fishing season 09 as a gerneral statement for everyone that wanted to post could. I enjoy everyones post!!

Another reason for the thread was cause I would be on the main page and the fishing forum would be nowhere in sight.

I mentioned my thread called "pic for pic" cause we could of went head to head. That thread was a friendly contest on who could post the most pics of bass 15"s or better. Since my bass dont grow fast as some of the other states, thats why I didnt make it who can post the most big fish.

Check it out-

Dude an normal 10 days vacation in Florida for me is up at 6am on the water no later than 6:45am fish till noon - 1pm go for lunch and return to fishing around 2:30pm until, depending on time of year 7pm~8:30pm. This isn't counting Top Secret cammando runs. We fish long and hard all day every day. I'll give you a better idea, I send my reels out for maintenance everytime I finish my vacation. Granted I don't use the best reels out there but there good enough - Penns, 2 of them cost roughly $50 each at Bass Pro, they go in for repair and or general maintenance and up keep. two to three times per years. Unfortunately there still in now because Penn switched hands and parts are back ordered, I need to purchase another one or two while the other two are repaired - Bail spring shot.

I fish so much and so long that closed to the end of my trip I wake up in the mornings and my right hand is half clinched, I gotta massage it in the morning so I can fully open my hand :nilly:.

I looked at the thread some really super nice pics and catches but I would have been able to matter must days through out you thread in one to two days, if I photographed ever fish 15 inches or more. Like I tell people I not into fishing - I go catching - and average day for us is like 33 and higher Bass, granted we count everything as long as it's a Bass. But we produce fish. Lowest average catch so far in 7 years of us fishing together has been for me I think 10 days in total was 70 Bass, normally it's about 135~145 Bass. "Jersey Jack" who has ever lure made catches more normally, plus he uses or carries to rods, I carry one. Off hand I don't know the numbers he would he keeps a log but last time I was down together wwe nailed 355 Bass in 10, oops 8 days of fishing together.

We have little tournments and we count lunkers, and tie breakers and sometime we do whats know as the Slurpie Challenge..... this one spot we got ten cast, with a rattle trap however comes up with most, or biggest fish wins.... the other guy buys the Slurpies, the only thing Florida had more of than Golf Courses is Seven Elevens. Sometime we also do whats called the Ale House Challenge! Looser buys lunch!

Here's Jersey Jack with another nice fish:

And me with one too. Let me know if I should put these pics somewhere else like your other thread. But I think since I started here I should stay here but it's your thread, your the boss. I just don't see the same people there as here.

Those are some pretty sweet looking Bass, but I can't do ice fishing the sounds that the ice makes is just too unnerving for me to deal with. Forming ice sounds like splitting ice to me. :screwy:

Ice fishing only works with live bait and there isn't NO way I'm seatin in one spot waitting for a fish to come by an grab the bait. I can deal with the cold but to have to seat in one spot, is mad BORING to me. Nice size bass tho!!!

If you know the CRACCCK and RumBBBBBBling sounds the ice can make tells me you have been on the ice before.

Never said I wasn't on the ice before that's how I know what noise it makes and I find it way too unnerving. Especailly when people drive there trucks out on to the ice. Way back in grade school they took us ice skating on a lake and the noise drove me right NUTZ!!!!:nilly::nilly::nilly:

You dont need live bait. Rapala made two vertical jigging lures but i dont know if they work that well.
In the lake Cichlid fiend fishes where bites are pretty slow the chances of making a hole above the fish would be slim though. Here in indiana there is a pond a ways from here and i can catch 8 bass out of one spot in an hour...:headbang2
