Yeah I have to agree, that golf courses offer some very good bass fishing. I've been kicked off a few m self. It's this one I snuck onto in 07 and I banged 9 in 45 minutes and my nephew was able to get 3, that's 12 fish in 45 minutes, that's banana's.

I have a update from Saturday when I went out in the nor-Easter, frezzing my butt off. I'm going to do that update plus the one from today. Once I get back home, I'm about to head out in about 30 minutes. Hopefully I'll get my 5lb+ today!!

Its funny the amount of bass in golf course ponds. I wouldn't think that much life in those enclosed ponds to sustain them.

i wonder if the fact that there is low fishing pressure has anything to do with it?

one thing about florida there are alot of wealthy older people from up north that have nothing better to do than complain trust me it does not matter if your black or white they call the cops i dont know how many times i have been fishing some where public or city owned not private and someone tell me i cant fish there you ignore them and guess what a couple minutes later the cops come tell you the neighbors dont want you fishing there you ask if its not aloud there he says there is nothing that says i cant so why bother me or better yet fishing from a private area that some one i know owns and being harrased by nosy older neighbors and the game wardens around here have been pretty bad lately but i guess any government agency that isnt producing right now is getting cut so they are probably just trying to keep there jobs but once you do find a place to fish i do love florida fishing

I agree.
There is a cow farm like 6 blocks from my house which has secluded nice ponds but for most of you guys its boring fishing.
As you like lure fishing. Its only big channel cats and smaller catfish (not sure of type) , lots of Miyans and talipia (big) but thats it no bass.
Maybe the big catfish eat the eggs.

So I drop my line in with earth worms and bopper and wait. Its fun because you always catch fish within 10 minutes but even I got tired of sit and wait type fishing.
I LOVE the Glades but the farm is 5 minutes away..

Yeah theres a ton of ponds in my neighborhood but only one isnt surrounded by cranky morons. It really sucks.

lol thats the sad norm around here.
Old people are everywhere I should know I'm almost fifty now.

Thats why I fish the canals or by Glades outskirts. There are lots lakes around here but nothing beats those isolated ponds 90% you can't access.

In my area few farms and the farmers are terrific you can fish their ponds but just cat fish . I like me some good old catfishingtoo, some of those catfish in Florida can be beasts. Florida is the only place I've ever fished and had a catfish hit a spinnerbait.

The nice ponds are surrounded by snotty elitist people with nothing to do .

Golf courses because of there design and look of everything being just perfect have there ponds/lakes connected. There all connected through piping that runs underground. This way the water level in all pond stays the same and no pond/lake looks lower than the rest, it also helps to keep the ponds/lakes from flooding over there banks. Plus most golf courses pond/lakes have a check valvve system that run through piping to the outside, if there levels hit a certain hight, they flush water to the outside.

That is another reason.

We almost had a heart attack one year, we went to this spot a park ranger told us about behind the park. Said he and his friend fished it for big Bass. It was like a walk and a half, but we got there and we started to fish when the ground started too rumble. We looked up and about a block away was this HUGE herd of long horn steers, coming around this bend :WHOA: You have never seen two rush out of an area so fast and it was brushy terrian too boot.

So I drop my line in with earth worms and bopper and wait. Its fun because you always catch fish within 10 minutes but even I got tired of sit and wait type fishing.

Nice Photo!

I love those drainage ditches on your side of the state, but there a bit difficult to fish because of the slope on them. Because I normally stand at the waters edge and fish. I will also fish live bait I just perferre to catch the bait myself instead of buying it. Shinners are ok, but small bullgills work really great and are heartier.

SPOTS FISHED-2

TIME FISHED-10 HRS

FISH LANDED-1-4/Dennis-4

For all the people on the northeast coast, know we had a small nor easter slam as from Thursday-Sunday. I didnt care, so on Friday I called my fishing buddy Dennis to let him know that Saturday I was going fishing requardless of the weather.

I know the storm would shake up the water and make it very muddy. So I decided we would try my east brunswick spot cause its all sand bottom and the water would be clear. I havent been coming here much cause the grass was starting to grow crazy in late June.

We began fishing at 8am and it was cold, super windy, and rainning. The first piece action we seen was when a big CP took two swings at my spinner bait but missed both times :irked:. Right after that Dennis landed a bass on the spinny and I followed right up with a bass that jumped on my crank bait(sexy shad) The bite was very slow but Dennis was able to get his second of the day before we made it back to the boat ramp.

The second spot of day was 'Farrington". After being there for a couple hours and having NO bites I got restless and decided to take a red bull and potato chip break, before I could finish my chips Dennis said my famous words(got him) when He reeled in a 2.15lb bass. We went a couple more hours of COLD windy weather without a bite. My hands were starting to go num cause it was so cold when the wind was gusting at 20 mph. Since nothing else was working I pulled out the husky jerk bait and on my Thrid cast I landed a 2.14lb CP. Not to long after I tied it up 3-3 when a small 13'er jumped on the jerk bait. In route back to the boat ramp we stopped at the same shore line where Dennis got the nice bass from earlier. He threw his spinner bait at the same brush pile from earlier and BAM fish on, a nice 15'er. I throught he had took the lead but no no. On my very next cast a small 10"er jumped on the crank bait tieing it up 4-4.

On are outtings lately Dennis is sticking with the spinny ALL DAY and he is catching all the big bass and I'm good for one monster CP a day.

Dennis landing the big bass again, very poor conditions, and my hand getting frost bit, yet still it was good day of fishing!!

PS-Im including pics of todays outting,my new decor in my 90g,my best fish I have left, and a pic of my boys 120g he just rearranged

SPOTS FISHED-1

FISH LANDED-I-11/Dennis-6

I need to get some help cause im addicted to bass fishing. I woke up and called off of work(stupid). Modaration is not one of my strange points, specially not with things I like. Anyway just venting!!

Dennis came by at 8:30 and at 9:45 we were on the water of the "Amazon". We had just pulled off the boat launch and I was setting up my poles and I seen a panfish fish jump clean out of the 44.3 degree water. I tell Dennis to throw his spinner bait in the direction I just seen the fish jump at. This lucky SOB landed a 3.3 on that cast!! Im like dang lately he is catching all the big bass. With that great start you would of throught the fish were going to be going crazy but they werent. That first fish was probaly chasing that pan fish and when Dennis threw his spinner bait over there it was just perfect timing. After about a hour I quess the bite was turning on cause I was fishing some lay downs when a MONSTER CP(3.5lb+) jumped on my crank bait(sezy shad) but since he hit it right at the boat I tried to swing it in the boat and its teeth cut the line:irked::irked:. To make things even worst Dennis landed 3 more bass making it 4-0 and boy was he rubbing it in. About a hour and half later I was finally able to land my first of the day when a 2.1lb bass jumped on my spinny but Dennis landed one right after that bringing it to 5-1. I was getting alittle disappinted but I stayed focused and tied on a new crank bite(blk & silver). I was able to land 5 bass on it, plus one I caught on the lipless bringing the total to 7-5. Niether Dennis or I could believe that I had made a comeback. It was getting late so we started heading back to the boat ramp. Before we made it to the front I banged 4 more on the spinny bringing it to 11-5. I wasnt ready to go so I doulbled back on this one shoreline and Dennis lucky behind landed a 3.1lb bass before we called it quits at 6:30.

Today was no different. Dennis lands all the big bass and Im good for one MONSRTER CP but the CP cut the line today and swam off with my crank bait :irked:.

Still no 5lb+, plus Dennis catching all the big bass but I still had alot of fun today!!!

Damn it im missing the fall bite. The dam was leaking due to flooding and they had to drain the lake 10 feet. The boat is like 15 feet above the lake. And cant even get close to the shore due to mud.

cichlidfiend, I really enjoy your trips good job!

I'm sorry, somehow I overlooked your comment here, yeah I've never had it happen until I fished in Florida. Florida is the only place I've ever seen schooling in a feeding frenzy of sorts.
