I guess they let you fish there because of renovations being done? They dont allow fishing in area golf courses around here .

I don't belong to any course clubs but I have walked them and saw PB and Oscars and no fishing signs.

Thats a good size gator for a golf course resident as they usually remove them at 4 -5 ft.

Dude we were booted a short while later. Yeah gulf courses have some of the best ponds & lakes with Bass and other exotics in them. We're always talking how if either one of us ever hits the lottery we're going to buy a gulf course, and post a sign "NO GULFING ALLOWED", right after I buy the house next door to the racist that lives on a lake in my folks developement that we named "Lake Cuffaro", this guy once came out back of his place called us over and stated he didn't pay all this money to look out his window and see "Your kind of people on the lake". Ever since then I fish that lake everytime I go to Florida, everytime.

But mainly I get booted in Florida for fishing while Black, doesn't matter if I'm on a gulf course or some unposted lake or pond a mile from nowhere. There's always someone that's got something to say about me fishing, but I fish anyway.

Yeah I have to agree, that golf courses offer some very good bass fishing. I've been kicked off a few m self. It's this one I snuck onto in 07 and I banged 9 in 45 minutes and my nephew was able to get 3, that's 12 fish in 45 minutes, that's banana's.

I have a update from Saturday when I went out in the nor-Easter, frezzing my butt off. I'm going to do that update plus the one from today. Once I get back home, I'm about to head out in about 30 minutes. Hopefully I'll get my 5lb+ today!!

Nice. What type senko do you use?

Watermelon/blk flake 5.5" wacky rigged. I just started fishing softbaits this year, and they have done me very very well. I've also started using shallow to medium depth cranks with alot of success

I've gotten that before also. There is this nice lil pond off to the side of the road. There was once a house on this property but has since been torn down and a nice pier to fish off of. So oneday I head out there, and before I can even get my line wet, "jake" drives up behind me telling me that I can't be out there. So instead of asking why, I just said THANK YOU and I'll leave now. Hell it's not as if I was going to be building a damn fire and drinking leaving beer cans/bottles strown around. I just want to catch some fish and release them. What ever happened to being friendly and allow people some pursuit of happiness??????? :nilly:

one thing about florida there are alot of wealthy older people from up north that have nothing better to do than complain trust me it does not matter if your black or white they call the cops i dont know how many times i have been fishing some where public or city owned not private and someone tell me i cant fish there you ignore them and guess what a couple minutes later the cops come tell you the neighbors dont want you fishing there you ask if its not aloud there he says there is nothing that says i cant so why bother me or better yet fishing from a private area that some one i know owns and being harrased by nosy older neighbors and the game wardens around here have been pretty bad lately but i guess any government agency that isnt producing right now is getting cut so they are probably just trying to keep there jobs but once you do find a place to fish i do love florida fishing

Yeah theres a ton of ponds in my neighborhood but only one isnt surrounded by cranky morons. It really sucks.

I got you beat. One year my buddies sons friend came down from Jersey, so we were looking for some new spots and we went to this lake just behind an uncles place. My uncle says he seen kids from time too time fishing there, so we drop by a give it a try - OMG!!! Four guys fishing 117 bass in less than an hour, I mean ever cast no matter what you threw BASS! Mind you they were mainly all 12~15 inches with maybe 20 or so being 1.5~2 pounders. But what an hour that was then they just turned off, completely poof finished.

Sorry about that Larry, I know what that's like. And if that was me I always ASK WHY! I don't care if you live there, your the local Sheriff, Police, State Troopers or head of the head of the local good O'boys network. I always ask why!!! If the land isn't posted and it ain't private property I want to know WHY! Now my buddy how is a retire State Trooper and he now understands what it means to be fishing while Black. He's experienced it with me first hand.

well that's nice too know that it happening to someone that isn't Black, but that would seem to be only happening on your side of the woods. Because my buddy and is son and there friends can fish anywhere they want just about - he's been banned from a golf course fishing while playing golf - but when he shows up with me, the Sheriff is there in a heart beat.

As far as the govenment agency not producing and getting cut, they get a good package when they get cut. But there like what game wardens, because State park employees I have no beef with at all. I have never been harrassed by one of them.

Just the "wealthy older people from up north" as you put it, like to mess with me so I mess with them right back and the police that think by rest there hand on there gun I'm gonna run, think again. Had my attornies contact the developement that my folks are in and tell them that I was gearing up to a suit against them because this racist mule hole was interferring with my right to peaceful enjoyment, stated in there bylaws. And now all this mule hole does is sit there give me dirty looks but can't say anything. :D

Sometimes knowing too much about the law can get one into alot of trouble, but I figure I can always use some extra money. Can you say lawsuit or settlement, I can. :screwy:

lol thats the sad norm around here.

Thats why I fish the canals or by Glades outskirts. There are lots lakes around here but nothing beats those isolated ponds 90% you can't access.

In my area few farms and the farmers are terrific you can fish their ponds but just cat fish .
The nice ponds are surrounded by snotty elitist people with nothing to do .

"Dude we were booted a short while later. Yeah gulf courses have some of the best ponds & lakes with Bass and other exotics in them."

I figured they wouldn't allow fishing as golf courses don't. I know the fishing is unreal because I have walked the course and seen the fish not to mention the mail carrier we have is a fishing fantatic and he does fish the golf courses that he delivers mail to.

He has shown me amazing pics .

I understand no fishing as it is a private golf course but more and more natural ponds in Florida are having gated communities, golf courses built around them .
Which deprives people from using natural ponds, lakes.
