rockfish is another term for striped bass

;) This was on the mighty susquehanna river. stripers, rockfish, striped bass are all the same. White bass, white perch, hybrids and them are all in the same family though.

i think its funny they call em white perch and yellow perch when they are closer related to other fish than each other.

and thanks cichlids fiend, were going back out tomorrow and going for that keeper (25"+)

When all else fails, have you ever tried WHACKY? :naughty:...... try hooking a worm in the middle of the body with the hook point just coming through the worm and toss it out there and let in sink on it's own. Then give a little tap or two and reel it in a bit and then repeat, just watch that line - the line tightens up even for a moment, on the next movement set the hook.

Yup yup....look ^^^^^ further up at my previous post, that's mainly the thing I throw between everything else

I think today will be the warmest day left of this year for us in NJ. So I have to take advantage of that!!

I had a decent day yesterday at my "Lakewood spot" so today I will return. Ill have two updates by the end of the day.

Hopefully the big ones will be bitting cause it seems as if that im not going to hit the 5LB+ mark this year. I cant get pass 4.9 to save my life but today could be the day!!

UR boy,

Cichlid fiend

Me and a few friends hit a pond in SI today. Few Bullheads. Nothing special. One of the Bullheads put a nasty gash in my finger, and I decided to take a little Mosquitofish home for my tank, lol

called out sick to do a little night fishing last night. caught some bluegills for bait and was able to land this puppy before the sun ever set. my biggest channel to date, 7.5lbs. forgot to measure before i threw him back :(.

we caught around 20 cats last night, second biggest was a 5lber.
nice channel, have you ever thought about targeting larger catfish and striper by keeping the bait alive either shads or bluegill just put a circle hook under there soft dorsal and let them swim around with the drag of or really lose if your using spinning reels. I use a 2 oz sinker to keep the bait neer the bottom. When they hit let them swim with it for a while untill they stop, then when they start to run again set the hook. Depending if theres flatheads or blues in the river would matter for size of the bait. For big flatheads and blues I would use a 6-8 inch baitfish. For smaller cats and large channels I would use a 2 inch or a little bigger baitfish.

SPOTS FISHED-2

TIME FISHED-6.5 HRS

FISH LANDED-I-7/Big bruh-3

Started out the day at "Farrington" by myself. Landed 2 in three hours and decided to leave and go to my Lakewood spot

It was a hour amd half ride cause of the traffic and I missd my tirm the first time. Once I made it there big bruh was there waitting for my already. He was able land the first first fish with a decent CP. Big hruh was also able to land the second fish with another decent CP. My first was a small bass that ran down on the spinny. I landed another right after that on the "lipless". My fifth fish of the day was a decent bass that ran down on the "Tuby Tube". By that time we were headed back to the boat ramp and we seen a small increase in acton. My sixth fish of the day should of been a nice two pounder bass but it hit while I had the motor on constent and that caused me to rip the "lipless" right of the bass mouth, instead my sixth was a small CP. Big bruh landed his thrid of the day the spinny. The final fish a day was my seventh when a real decent size CP that chased my spinny all the way to the boat and missed it but I just reeled it back in the other direction and BAM jumped right on it and had the pleasure of seeing it up close at the boat!

The start was slow but the enddin was ok!!
