FISHING SEASON 09!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I found out where all my fellow Steelheaders have been today. And sure enough I finally hooked a skamania today but unluckly it broke me off. But the good thing is I found them, I will be back down there after I get of work tomorow.

well i found the fish but I still only managed to hook a few and land none but I did acomplish something much more inportant to me. I showed my friend how to drift fish and I manged to get him hooked up and land a nice skamania. I also managed to drag my dad down and of course he catchs one on like his thrid cast :irked:. I was also happy that my friend caught his first walleye today while drift fishing. I think I seen at least 20 skamania caught this evening and way more hooked. I hope tomorow is my lucky day if not, oh well.

SPOTS FISHED- 1

TIME FISHED- 4 HRS

FISHED LANDED- 8-TOTAL/ME-5/Big Bruh-3

CONTEST UPDATE-33-18

I was going to do an update yesterday, but I made a mistake and erased the post. It wasn't a big deal because I only caught 1 fish but there was a new body of water that I found. so I decided to take the boat there today.

Big Bruh came along for the trip today and caught the first fish within the first ten minutes. I followed with a fish right after that. The bite slowed down a little, but out of no where I was able to catch a decent sized crappy (Sandwich). I was able to get two more Bass and a decent sized CP. Big Bruh was able to land two more after that, with one being a 3.2 pounder caught on the popper.

New Spot (Mill Pond) offered a very good first day!!!

yeah maybe tomorrow will be better

You guys are lucky, with all the ponds and lakes here in FL that hold bass, everyone fishes here!!! Meaning that fish are so heavily pressured in some areas I need to use live bait or nothing else works. If I'm using artificials I just catch a punch of 1 pounders. Which is better than nothing but gets boring after a while. I need to find the most remote and unfished place to catch decent sized bass. BUT, most of those places are fenced of or are part of private property. I NEED TO CATCH FISH! And lmb and bluegill REALLY gets boring after a while. I would love to catch pikerel, crappie, and catfish. But most of those places aren't very close.

I understand about the pressure on the bass but you just have to Know when and where to go, it's like a research paper you have to gather info on your spots that you fish.

There's no catfish in FL? I always thought they where everywhere, plus they are very easy to catch.

Finnally got the boat wet for the first time this year yesterday, only had a couple hours to fish but got nice eater. 18 1/4 inch river bass caught in Branch Co. MI. Had some nice color before it went in the cooler.

Dont get to fish much during the summer because of work and children. My favorite time is late fall while everyone else is deer hunting, big hungry fish trying plump for the winter!

I do try and show the bass everything, from spoons to rattletraps, worms, and creature baits. Fast and slow. It works at times but, I would like fish on a reguler basis. There's plenty of catfish in florida. But I have yet to find a good place for them. There's only a few in the places I fish. And they aren't very big. I like to fish very close where I live, I hate driving to places that take over 20 minutes. Mostly cause I've been in a car accident before, and I am afraid of driving.
