well me and my friend went down to the river today as it is the opening day of catch and release bass fishing. There was severe tunderstorm warnings for the day so i figgered we might catch a few but we wouldnt do great well I was wrong. So we fished the first spot for an hour i get board so i pull out my fun rod(an ice fishing pole) i set it up with a bobber and worm and started drift fishing it about 2 feet away from shore and 4 feet deep and oh course what do i hook of all thing a dang steelhead. That didn't end well the line broke during the first run. So i went and retied this time on my bass pole and a caught a nice 1 pound largie that was spawning up next to shore. Soon after I caught a bluegill. we moved to spot 2 and on the first cast I catch a nice 2 pound smallie. then comes the first storm so we hightail it back to the car and take of to spot 3. spot 3 is under a bridge which was out of the rain I caught a few more smallies like 2-3 or so. My budy still with none so I stopped and helped him (he had been fishing to fast) soon after he loses one up next to shore. a few cast later he gets one around 10 inchs. Oh all these smallies so far were caught on tube jigs. After a while we leave and go to another spot (4) across the river. We catch nothing so we move up river to spot 5. I now have on a rapala origianl floater gold and black about a 4-5 inch lure. On are way down some lady says they caught a 23 inch smallmouth the day before and that her son had caught a few walleye today and we talked to another guy who had caught a few steelhead. We started fishing and first cast i hook and have a steelhead throw me off a few cast later I got another smallie. we continued to fish as a nother storm came and passed over and poured rain fishing and catching smallies the whole time me and my budy. I even managed to snag a sucker and i hooked and lost my rapala on a 15 pound quillback carpsucker. so we fish around with some similar baits and keep catching smallies. the fishing started to slow so we headed back to spot 1 this time i catch 2 smallies one even jumped out of the water as i was lifting my lure out to recast. It was starting to get dark so we decided will save the rest for tomorrow.

so how many keepers you up to now?

I dont really keep up with the fish i catch alone unless they are big(2lbs+)

In are contest im still up 13-11.

I had my heart set on going to are new spot in E. Brunswick but on the way big bruh said lets try the spot we pass on the way to it. So i gave in. I was kinda mad cause no part of this lake is more then 4-5 feet deep but the water stays like my tank water(CRISPY). After about an hour goes by big bruh landed a nice 14"er. Shortly after he landed another and i landed one the very next cast after. He went on to catch 2 more bass and a small CP and i caught one bass and a small CP also. After that the fish seemed to shut down for day so we packed it up and left.

After going to lobster shanty for a good meal and 3 doubles of REMY, we decided that we wanted to go somewhere else real quick. So went to a pond in my complex where we are not supposed to be fishing but its fulled to the bream with bass(sess pool). Prime time was long gone but i was able to catch alittle one(10"er). We were both kinda drunk so we only did one walk around and gave for the day.

Nothing big today but it was a decent fishing day!!!

FWI-We usaully dont take pics of fish that are not keepers but i like to have some pics for my update. That being said im not taking pics of all fish being caught anymore. Plus in the heat of the battle its a of waste time to take pics of small ones.

yeah i wont be able to go tomorrow untill after 6 so we will see. They should still be bitting for at least a few more weeks untill they go out into the main river where i cant reach them from shore.

well i came to temtation and i went again today I caught 5-7 bass with only 1 largie and the rest smallies I might get the pics tonight from yesterday but iam not for sure.

At 11:45 the trolling motor was in gear. banged one in like the first five minutes of being out there. Second one was a small CP. I went on to catch 5 more bass thoughout my time fishing. CP was caught on a white spinner bait, got one bass on a yum dinger, and the rest of the bass were caught on sebil swim bait. As much as i didnt want to cut my fishing day short i had to cause my aunt was being honored today and i promised her i would be there.

Only fished from 11:45 to 2:30 but the fishing was pretty good today, but i wasnt able to get anything big but ha atleast i was catching something!!!

lol oh man some snapper nice. Was it out of the water?

Is that the sebil lures you mentioned in another post?

yeah the snapper was stuck on a fence so my brother put it back in the water and the sebil is the same model but a differnt color and size. Im in love with the sebil company so i have been picking different shapes,sizes and colors.
