Louie, that's a cobra pike aka Tapajos 2. I have gave her the 90g all to herself.

The two bass on one hard bait is mind blowing but I've seen it watching bass masters fishing in Florida and the delta which I think is in Cali.

"P4P" thanks, I enjoy keeping a track of my fishing just as much as fishing.

An unusual looking fish. I used to belong to Brooklyn aquarium fish club big cichlid bunch and never saw one like that.

Why not get a M/F pair ,or to agressive?.

You dont need live bait. Rapala made two vertical jigging lures but i dont know if they work that well.
In the lake Cichlid fiend fishes where bites are pretty slow the chances of making a hole above the fish would be slim though. Here in indiana there is a pond a ways from here and i can catch 8 bass out of one spot in an hour...:headbang2

the Jigging rap has always been a fish producer
From pike, bass, trout, perch, walleye, crappie. they will all hit this lure

Yes I think thats it. Didn't occur to me till you said it but it makes perfect sense.
i thought of it because a few years back some friends and i decided to go fishing in a small man made pond in an office park by my house and we ended up catching a few nice bass. as the years have gone by ive noticed that it has gotten harder and harder to catch a fish there, when we first started the fish practically jumped unto our hooks, but now we are lucky if we catch 1 fish the whole day. its almost like they have gotten smart. the only fish we ever took from the pond were about a dozen juvenile bluegill and three lmb fingerlings for my tanks so its not like we are reducing the fish numbers

They can be very agressive, plus I dont have the space for a pair. I had plenty of pikes in the past(10+). I was a impluse buyer. What I have learned through that phase was that when you OVER CROWD none of the fish seem to feel comfortable to bully everone but when you drop down the number of fish in the tank they feel comfortable and become very territorial and start to fight for the remaining space. I was down to two fish left in my 90g, it was just a 4-5" RTM and the cobra pike. I had to get rid of the RTM cause she was stressing out the cobra and cobra pikes only seem to be available one time of the year. If I had the space I might beable to to have a pair. Im hoping when this female cobra pike is full grown she will turn red!! Thats why I down to one fish cause Ive had alot of fish but I never grow them to adult hood.

Just explaining alittle of what I learned from being in the hobby about two years now.

Thanks for the info, im definitely getting some. I can see it working very good in the heat of the summer in deep water.

Well now some of my Bass picks feel a little on the weak side, but ok I'll deal with it. Some more pics of good O'l days gone by:
