yup, I fish almost everyday starting at the end of march to the beginning of june and then I slow a bit fishing about 4-5 times a week... I catch a few hundred stripers a year and also travel great distances to follow these guys on there journey. When I do throw bait, I try to get my own. In the spring if there isn't pods of bunker all around you then your in the wrong spot. Alot of the time in the early season when there still a little finicky and the water temps are still low, I use rigs that I make to snag the bunker and leave them out there. You may know this as snag and drop. Never buy bait... Fresh moving bait is better and cheaper :D

if your saying I can catch BIG stripers on lures on the regular count me in. Just let me know when this is and I'm there ASAP

SPOTS FISHED-1

TIME FISHED-1 HR

FISH LANDED-2

Had some time after work, so I just pulled over at the "College of NJ" for a quick hour. Banged two on the spinny! I also tried the lipless. Did one walk around and left.

Nothing to brag about but it helped!

Season is still around, doesn't end until Dec 15Th. I've always caught my bigger Bass is the cooler months.

Sorry couldn't uses the original background too messy. 44.7 inches and 46lbs fell to fresh clam at
2:44 am on a 10ft med action Ugly stick with 20lbs test on shimano Baitrunner 4500 series 1 reel.
The gator wasn't there just here for added effect. I know guys that fish them year round since
there just catch and releasing them.

Well going by pics I've seen you posted in the past and how tight the drag is set I'd say you would have been dragged in the water. :WHOA: The same night I caught this one a friend was pulled off his feet by a 50 inch Stripper but was able to land the fish anyway. Sorry no pic.

Here's what a typical night on the beach looks like when I go Striper fishing:

That's my NY Fishing buddy, two guys four rods, from sunset to sunrise. I gotta look I have a photo some where of us fishing at the beach and the sand is covered with snow, one Dec 14Th or 15Th morning last day of the season. Let me tell you if think sand is messy you ain't seen nothing until you add snow.
