Finally able to break the ice, my fifth trip of the year. Both were channel catfish hitting in about 15-20 feet of water on shrimp. Big fish was only 3lbs 3oz, but it feels good to get that first fish.

Stopped at "AMC" for a couple hours. I threw a few things at them seen no action but before I gave up I pulled out the jig. Threw around a big water pipe with a laydown next to it, BAM fish on. Two cast later a decent two pounder slamed it but then I got stuck and pulled the laydown out ,probaly scared anything else that might of been there.

headed out to northeast park (45 mins away) to try my luck at hooking a few perch. day started real slow took an hour or 2 to get them moving. caught 4 real quick and then the wind started and gave them all lock jaw. caught one more before leaving (dad - 2, me -3) and heading to the usually pier. dad got 3 channel catfish and i only got 1. Dad wins again.
most perch were 7-8 inchs (small), except this almost 12 incher. she was fat, healthy, and released unharmed.
