FISHING SEASON 2K11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Had some free time so I decided to go and find some unthawed water. All the lakes are still frozen, as well as the D & R canal. But its a few things open such as the Delaware river and some run offs from bigger bodies of water. I fished the creek feeding "Colonial Lake" two days ago with no results. So today I thought to myself what else has a run off that might be open cause of current being produced by the water spilling over . So I drove to "Mill Pond" in Plainsboro, NJ to find it all open ! I didnt see any action but its exactly what I needed !!

My first fish of the year will be here in no time !!!

pretty nice catches!
Whats your secret when you go ice-fishing?
I did it a few times, but after catching no fish at all for 3hours I ussually quit.
It is way to cold for me,and with no catches I really can't get my bodytemperature up.

Underneath A bridge like the one on your pics I ussually catch a lot of fish in the winterseason. for bait I ussualy use small fish and worms.
cast your bait just sideways from the headstream of the water, fish will lay here to rest and will probably take a bite. Good luck!

our temps this week will be in the mid 40's and potentially a day in the 50's! I am going to go to a local creek today and see if I cant find some fish. I have caught 2lb and up crappie there before.

still a lot of ice today and no fish. I broke off two crappie jigs on my light spinning rig. Lots of branches laying around :irked: not a good start.

Tip number one get away from the crowd.

Know the fish you target and there movements. (KEY)

Use the right bait, There are many kinds of minnows(shiners, fatheads) and some species prefer a certain kind as to bluegils prefer different bugs (wax worms, spikes, mousies)

Dress warm and stay out longer. Dont be afraid to move. The best times tend to be sunrise and sunset for panfish.

Took the boat out tuesday morning to where the yellow perch are supposed to be hitting. Saw tons of fish on the finder but couldnt buy a bite. Few other boats where out not having any luck.

Dad did get the first fish of the year, a small channel catfish. The wind was absolute rediculous but it was nice to be on the water. My first fish will come soon!
