last summer was right after that nasty cold snap....that's why it sucked...

this year's cold snap was not that bad and it seems like temp is climbing up a bit earlier this yr...come June/July, fish will be spawning like crazy...:popcorn:
 
Hit the pier tonight for some much needed action. Caught a few catfish (3) nicest one was 5lb 14oz but omg the carp went crazy.

I left my ultra lite ugly stick (5ft) out with worm for white perch, but after a few minutes i had alrdy forgotten about it. Some time goes by, throwin the net, and holy **** my rods bent over and the drags screamin. After an epic battle with the beast that takes like 15 minutes on the light rod i finally saw it. HUGE CARP. I walk him over to a spot where i can reach in and grab him (which takes another like 10 minutes). All by myself so proud. My 1st citation of the year (citation is 30 inches). 31-32" and 16lbs!

I lost another one at the pier when he broke my line.

I kept the 16lber on a stringer so i could get a good picture when my buddy got there. As just as he was setting up his rods i caught another one! this one only hit 10lb 12oz but it was nice to have a double photo op!

Exciting night! Carp fishing on an ultralite is so much fun.
