FISHING SEASON 2K11!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
still havent hooked in to anything with any size, caught a little MAYBE 8" yellow bullhead last night lol and missed probably 4 other small hits

Had the ich super bad and I got off at three but I couldn't bring myself to try....

Nice catch JD7.62 Lovely place to fish, like the portion with the rod stand. How does the stand sit with the tide coming in everynow & then? Always excited when the tide hushes in, for me they seems to cajoling the fishes inshore. Thanks for sharing

We have very small tides here on the Gulf Coast. Usually 1.5ft or so. They also are pretty erratic. Usually a high and low tide in a 24hr period but sometimes just a low tide or just a high tide, and twice a month our neap tides have hardly any measurable water movement. So, needless to say, the tide wont rush in too fast on my rods and if they do I would just pull the spikes up (they are made out of PVC pipe) and bring them back and sit them back in the sand.

JD, i am quite enjoying your surf fishing updates! keep up the good work.

Im afraid I wont have too many more reports until the end of March. I will be out of town the next several days and I dont know if the pomps will still be there when I get back.

When I get back I will be concentrating on the Gulf Kingfish aka whiting. Last year I was two ounces shy of the world record. Yesterday evening I landed another very nice one. Maybe I can get it this year!

What's goodie fella's !

After scrapping some copper this morning I gave bakers basin and Stacy park about 45 minutes each. The basin was muddy cause of the water coming in from the canel but I had something hit the jig but I couldn't close the deal and at Stacy park I let a small crappie get off.

Today it was 43 with the wind blowing 8-12mph and it wasn to bad. Tomorrow it's supposed to be 40 with the wind blowing 3-8mph and I have to give a boat trip a shot(I just have to try) !!!

lakes have a thin layer of ice as of yesterday :( likely to try for carp on my new Okuma ABF50 baitrunner and 12' Classic Carp rod on Tuesday at a local canal. All of my other outfits are cleaned up and reels packed away so it may just have to be a one rod trip!

I had to move south to get away from that ice! Fishing here year round. Its been cold here the last few days with highs only in the mid 50s but starting tues we will be back up to the mid 70s hehe

the ice is pretty terrible. At some point I am going to move down that way. Probably when the kids get out of school. Headed down to Kissimmee on Christmas for a week. May head over the Port Canaveral for a deep sea charter. Are red snapper in season in the Atlantic? Can you take them over a certain size all times of the year? Last time I tried, I pulled up a 13 pounder, and it was delicious!

Fish landed-2

Went back to the Amazon for seven hours and only landed two YP. The water was in the 40's but if the water wouldn't of been muddy(coffee) I know we could of had a decent day....

Looks like that's the last boat attempt of the year......
