if it is cooked right gar is real good..nice white meat most people just knock it from what they hear and never try it there selves

Only the one trip so far. Ive finally been given some numbers to some private stuff that is a yakable distance and holds a ton of snapper but the water has been rough since last Sunday and it doesnt look like it will be calm enough to get out again until this weekend which sucks as I cant fish on the weekends.

Outside of a 22" lmb on Sunday I've been lucky to get a single 10-12" lmb an outing so I decided to cash in some cabela's gift cards I got for my birthday on an ultralight and have fun with bluegills but to my suprise I got this 18"cat. Between the 4'8" ultralight rod and 4# line this was the definitely my funnest catch of the season.
