Yes, dolphin will often brab your bait. However, Ive NEVER seen one grab the hook. The young ones might but Ive never seen it happen. The adults somehow know where the hooks are, avoid them, and pull your bait until it comes off the hook. Just as amazing as it is annoying.

Yesterday I went out and it was dead. Caught one snapper and thats it. Did see a bunch of dolphins and a couple giant leatherback turtles.
 
Went surfing yesterday and a bunch of 5-6' fish with white stomachs were jumping and spiraling in the distance and they were moving closer throughout the day and finally they were supposedly mako sharks scaring all the fish away and they pushed some fish straight to the shore and they were leaping out of the water about 1-3' fish were leaping over all the surfers it was an amazing sight. They moved in with the small 3-4" fish and just kept getting bigger.

I got this Black Drum off the seawall on Lake Ponchartrain tonight. I caught a Speckled trout on the next cast but it wasn't legal. This was my first Drum though and pretty fun!

For the guys that dont hang out in the lounge....

I fished a tournament Saturday. Did ok but couldnt find the snapper bite. I did manage fourth in the king mackerel division with these two thirteen pounders. The highlight of the day was coming up on this whale shark in my kayak. I eventually swam with her after my partner and I caught about a dozen cobia off of her.
