FISHING SEASON 2K12!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
LMAO @ the poisoned pond that's hysterical. The good news for me is that most of the mexicans are too dumb to catch big bass so even when the ones that work out there try to fish it (which i have no problem with them) they just catch bullheads and small bream on worms, the bass are pretty safe even though they occasionally catch the smaller ones. It's the trespassing that really kills me, did u see the snapping turtle pic i put up flemming? remembered you wanted one last time

@masterb - how do you like that 3 pole holder? can't decide if i wanna order that one or the individual spiral holders

I love them, I also have the single extendable holders that I have used for a few years but I like this one better, easy to stick in the ground by using your foot too.

Yep The snapping turtle pic was nice.
I would love to encounter one of those while fishing as long as it is not on the other side of my line.
Good thing those mexicans don't know how to fish,Sadly this can't be said about those polish poachers.
Although the ussually use material that looks like its coming straight from WOII they always use live baits at the bottom which is effective for all predatory fish.
It also isn't uncommon to snatch a line with about a dozen baited hooks with my lure at a spot those Polish are often.

Ok so let me tell yall about my last few days of fishing. My aunt that lives here and my other aunt, her sister, have both had knee and hip replacements in the last couple of years so now that they are feeling better they asked me to take them fishing.

Well, it started off great, we had a couple of reds and several nice whiting in the cooler as well as my personal best pomp of the season at seventeen inches.

One of my aunts hooks into a nice redfish and once she gets the fish in the surf I do the obligatory landing of the fish by getting in the water and grabbing it. This time it all went bad and bad fast. You see Im use to using double hook rigs and like always I look to see where the hooks are before I grab the fish. One hook is in the fishes mouth and the other stuck in its belly. I go to grab the fish as a wave comes in giving the fish enough water to start swimming back out. The fish swims between my legs and I feel it. The rig my aunt was using was a pre made rig that had three hooks and I completely forgot about the third hook which was swimming free. The third hook conveniently finds its way into the bottom of my big toe. Meanwhile the red has escaped to deeper water and has built up a bit more energy and is going nuts whilst I am sitting in the crashing waves in agony as the fish is pulling on the line.

Finally my other aunt realizes what is happening and brings down a pair of pliers. I managed somehow to corral the fish and have it pinned beneath me so she isnt moving any more. She cuts the line and I toss the fish up on the beach. Im free, or so I thought. I go to stand up and the hook was still attached to the four oz sinker which is buried in the sand unknown to me. I go to take a step, the line pulls tight again and again I am back in the sand in pain. I pull out the sinker and hobble to my chair. So yes, caught something bigger then any of you this week, a two hundred pounder. haha

Its decided that its best for me to head to the hospital because it tore me up pretty good and the fact infections can get pretty nasty. The lidocaine shots in my toe didnt feel too good and the last couple of days my arm has felt like someone beat it with a hammer because of the tetanus shot. Oh yeah, the red was barely legal at just under 27" so in the cooler she went. This all happened Friday.

Today I decided to take my daughter to the beach and do some fishing as well. The surf was dead calm and normally I wouldnt fish in it because the fishing is bad. I decided to stick it out for no other reason to let her play. After a couple hours of nothing my daughter starts screaming that we have a fish as Im starting to doze off in my chair and sure enough I look up to see one of my rods bowed up. I grab the rod out of the sand spike, start walking backwards as Im tightening the drag and the fish takes off just peeling out line. Of a solid twenty minute battle this beautiful girl comes up. My biggest red of the season at forty five inches and estimate weight of thirty five to forty pounds.

Enjoy the pics.

I didnt catch anything worth talking about, which was a snapper and bullhead.

Went to a pond at first and then the little miami river, no luck today.

Few members have asked how I fish with bread, this is how I fish with it on the bottom for carp, just a hook a no sinker so they dont feel any weight.

For cats I usually use just the head but these green sunfish were small so I used the entire fish.

I had all them poles out and nothing today, was beautiful out.

JD nice fish but just looking at that hook in your toe makes me cringe!

I got skunked today. Nothing on cut shad, nothing on live bluegill or chubs. A real bummer!

yeah that hook in the toe... just ouch... >_< - went out to clayton for my nephews birthday yesterday and took him fishing for an hour or so, he caught a half dozen bluegills and i caught one channel cat about 4lbs, no bass though. taking a canoe out with a buddy today at lake raleigh to see what we can find

Went to the pond near my house today. It was windy, but did well.uploadfromtaptalk1333406103689.jpg

skunked today on the canoe at johnson. friend caught a 4" crappie and that was it. really discouraging.. havent been able to enjoy bass fishing in a while now, last few trips have crapped out and now i can't fish my favorite spot. uhg. need to get down to the beach, sea mullet (or whiting depending where you're from) are running really heavily now and i am tempted.
