Went out for the second time this year with a friend on a canoe in our local lake. We ended up catching 5 LMB in the 16-18 inch range, and I being the skilled (lucky) one got a 22''-24'' Northern Pike. All were very good sized for our area. I just wish that my tanks were big enough to keep a pike in them lol.

Went out a last weekend and caught 2 blues and the people with me caught a couple other cats
2 weekends ago i caught 4 cats with the biggest being a 6-8 pound channel

Nice Golden trout MN_rebel, never seen a golden trout in my life.
Also a really nice sturgeon Sbuse!

Been out feeding carp for three days in a row.
I noticed some really big carp last year, in a clear narrow pond.
Most waters in my area have healthy carp populations, but due to the large quantities of fishermen angling for carp they are really shy.
Have tried almost everything on a lot of waters in my area but carp are used to anything and are difficult to fool.
Really glad I found this water,I've never met another fishermen on this water so this is probably my best shot at catching some nice sized carp.
Today I saw 15lbs grasscarp which really got me excited.

Red dots on the picture are the places I have been feeding, the big dots are places I have noticed carp in the past.
Pond is about 3ft deep and 14feet wide and over a mile long.
I'll cast about a pound of sweet corn in the water each day and will test my luck on friday.

On shy carp or grass carp....grass carp you can use bread on light line, keep your profile low, be patient and dont be noisy. Cast to the carp or the area they are in. For regular carp that are shy I also like to use light line, 2lb to 6lb test, no weight and use bread or corn on the bottom. Open the bail and be patient. Carp are very sensitive and can feel the slightest vibrations either from a bump in your pole to you walking on the bank, etc.

I'm going to try my luck on grass carp tonight. They were out yesterday but were busy getting a tan. My biggest out of here is 43lbs, last year I fought one for 3 hours on 6lb test or 4lb test, till my line twisted so much that it broke. He was a big boy, in the past one the same weight line I have pulled in carp in less than 45 mins so this one was a dandy, never did get to see its body but did see his face for a split second.

MN - Nice golden trout. Never seen one!

Sbuse that's an awesome sturgeon.

Flemming, prebaiting is a very good idea. Be sure to use a hair rig and a pack bait may be a good idea as well. Ive heard European carp can be tricky since its so popular there. Let's us know how you do.

thanks guys!

for carp i find that the frozen mixed yellow and white corn work the best. it releases sent slower as it thaws and the temp difference seems to help them key in on my bait. night and day difference between can corn and frozen corn from my experience.
