The little chicken dolphin werent our target but since the wahoo werent cooperating these lil guys made up for a decent trip. They were a blast on my little battle 3000 with ten lb test line.
Good eating? Youve never had mahi mahi? Some people call them dolphin or dorado. And no they taste nothing like mackerel thank God. They are really good, really mild but good nonetheless.
Mahi are some of the best eating fish in the ocean IMO. Can cook em about any way you want and not mess em up and at that size? forget about it. I'd be eating nothing but those for a month! perfect eating size little bigger than peanut dolphin!
No i haven't, not where I live, we are far from where they could be caught fresh!

going to the pier tonight hopefully before the wind and rain get here. water temp at 68-69. might be able to get a flat or 2 tonight if i can get into a good spot. But i will be fishing for a variety of things. Need a break from the paper. psychoanalytic approaches to film are hard....
polar opposite, meat is solid white about as clean as you can find and not oily at all
finally got into a good spot around 7 30 once the wind got up. we got 2 channels before getting rained on and blown off the pier.
