FISHING SEASON 2K12!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yum, I love black sea bass.

Today red snapper opens up for our shortest season ever at just forty days. NCStatefisher, we have the same problem with red snapper. The .gov morons keep telling us that there isnt enough red snapper yet over the last five years its hard to catch anything BUT redsnapper. The snapper are showing up MILES into the bay systems that old timers say they have never seen before.

Im suppose to head offshore on my buddies boat tomorrow AM to get my measly limit of two fish which literally should mean we get to the spot, drop down, fish one, rebait, drop down, fish two, done. boo. Oh yeah they are closing triggerfish too on the eleventh of this month so I guess we will spend the rest of the day focusing on them. AJs close today and grouper are still closed and soon triggers will be and July tenth snapper will be closed again, what will be the point of fishing anymore? Sadly thats their goal...

fish on the left may be mixed with a mayan cichlid but one on the right is a tilapia, fry em up!!! who knows if the ponds you are fishing are infested with cichlids it could be why you havent had much bass luck

they're closing AJs Grouper and Triggers in the SUMMER??? What!!? Ajs and Triggers are hear year round and Grouper are only closed for a few months during the winter.... that's crazy buddy I hate to hear that.. I've heard the reason they did sea bass the way they did is because the numbers down off the east coast of florida were low and it skewed the data. The limit now is 5 a person at 14"... it used to be either 10 or 15 at like 10" and guess what, now the fish are overpopulated like hell... it'll be fun to go catch a couple limits since there are so many big ones but with so many more small ones it's nearly impossible to jig fish a wreck for flounder or gray trout anymore.. can't keep the BSB off gulp or bucktails or anything, and don't even think about wasting your money on live bait.... I get frustrated here when I catch american reds when i go out to blue water but even then we may catch 3 or 4 on the whole boat in a whole trip, i can't imagine when they're nearly every drop...

The other one was bigger and fatter. It just looked smaller because the angle. I'll make sure to take measuring tape pictures like this one next time.

Nice Spotted Tilapia! The last picture is a monster.

EDITED: Sorry I wasnt on this very much lately...too busy with the stocking walleyes & northern pike in the lakes all week. On bright side, I caught some big yellow perch and few big hybrid sunnies.
