Few pics from last two weeks, not much going on. Im in a new place, never been here before, Taylorsville Lake, in KY. Didnt catch a thing there but gills for bait. Took my GF's son to the lake, he said his biggest fish was a bluegill so I had to change that right fast. Got him hooked into a nice channel on bread, we were stalking them feeding under a tree which at a distance thought they were carp since I did see some red fins cutting thru the water. But we was happy :)

I fixed my rudder and went out this AM for the first time in almost three weeks to clear calm water in hopes of finding some dolphin. Plan was to get some live bait, head out at least two miles and work my way out to four or five slow trolling live cigs. Conditions were perfect and bait was easy to get.

Well, of course Im cursed with this boat. About a mile and a half out it happens. ANOTHER chain assembly breaks. I honestly had to restrain my self from throwing my mirage over board. This is FOUR times in a row the Hobie has left me stranded.

Im getting pretty frustrated. Yes my mirage is older but damn. The boat its self is less then two years old and the rudder rope broke last time out so its not just my mirage thats letting me down.

Paddling an outback is NOT fun nor easy so I slowly worked my way in. I guess God felt bad for me and sent a school of peanuts my way. They were small but I put nine in the cooler averaging about fifteen inches to give me enough meat for a good dinner for the family. After they stopped biting, the school stayed with me for a good twenty minutes. Even while paddling pretty hard and splashing the paddle they stayed right under me. The water was really clear and they were so beautiful, ALMOST made up for the broken mirage.

So, this is FOUR times in a ROW the hobie has let me down and with the repairs being about four hundred dollars in total in just a few months of ownership. Maybe I should stop calling it a B.O.A.T.

Went out a couple of days ago to fish some pike with topwater frogs. I lost a few pikes but caught a good sized perch :) I was really surprised.

I don't like to grab the fish in the lower jaw and then release it. But since I would take it home I thought that it didn't matter.

Cam anyone Id this guy? My friend found him on the shore while we were fishing the Delaware. I think it's a perch of some type. It had teeth. We also saw a HUGE carp swimming by which was an easy 10 pounds but it was more or less floating on the current so it was gonna die :(. It was easily the biggest carp I've seen in person. Might head over to lake wallenpaupack and see how fishing is here. I'm at my cousins currently in pa. Also gonna fish on her pond which is way bigger than mine in ny. This thing is freaking huge! But to get to it is hard so I'm gonna try to fish it on my boat I use here. They have a lake lol its freaking huge. I'll see if I can get some pics. Not sure though as the grass and plants overgrow it. I'll take pics of the grass though. Lol with a little view of the Lake. Anyways here's some pics of the fish we found uploadfromtaptalk1344100137429.jpg
Fish was about 8".
Oh and the Lake hasn't been fished at all in over 20 years so there are no doubt some huge fish. I always see turtles and a lot of bass jumping. Wish me luck!

Also got a new Shakespeare medium action rod because my Mitchell feels like a whale with anything about 1 pound. I also got it because I have an extra reel I needed a rod for while I go out on my kayak in ny. The rod only costed $18 and was falsely marked as the same exact pole was next to it for $30. So I'm pretty sure I got a good deal. Any recommendations on what I should use on the lake? I was thinking bass lures then using some worms and some jigheads because I was told their are slab crappie in here. I'll be going fishing hopefully on Tuesday and I hope to be able to go on the boat.

pic kind of sucks because of the angle but i think its 100% sauger. Body shape just looks different bc of the angle of pic, I am guessing.

It is probably just a sauger but that is very funny-looking one....almost bass-like. What it bothers me is the stripes on the gill cover and the tail isn't shaped right for a sauger or walleye. So it might not a sauger or a walleye.
