FISHING SEASON 2K12!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Here are some of my recent catches,I am now at 25pikes and 11zanders.
It's really gonna become a zanderyear for me,it the first year in my life to catch more then 10zanders over the 20inch mark.
With the biggest one currently at 29 inch and 10.6lbs. Although I'f caught large one's in my life this one was just fat and massive.
Old fishermen always told me that strong winters result in healthier zander populations and I'm starting to believe that this is true.
Pike this year is a total different story,I can't seem to catch pike's over the 28inch mark and the regular size is now around 20-22inch. Have caught a few bigger ones but my biggest one this year is still only 30inch.
Here are some pics I still waiting for other pictures from some friends of mine.
for some kind of weird reason some pictures are placed sideways.

There was a way bigger one but he jumped off my line he was easily 4 1/2 pounds! I was about 2 feet away from the boat and he came up and popped out of the water and in the process taking the hook out. I looked at the pictures with the fish in my hands and it looked about half the size. The one was easily 2 pounds not sure which one though out of the pics.

Fishing has been slow, ridiculously slow. Even boat trips havent been producing anything worth taking pictures of. Nights are getting colder, so ill be heading out more. Going saturday for the new moon bite, fished last night. Landed 2 bass, one pictured in 18" 3.3 lbs, personal best. and another around 15". Missed a third one who missed the buzzy. Chart/white war eagle buzzbait, they wouldnt touch the white/red. Caught a few channels before calling it an early night, biggest at 5lbs or so. Flatheads have been scarce, havent caught one in a few weeks, since we did a tournament with a buddy that didnt go so well.

Hope everyone is doing well, fingers crossed ill acutally have something to post saturday night.

Thanks Guys!
Nice Bass Dreams, hope you will be on the flatheads again soon!
Nice to see some activity in this topic,it remains my favorite topic on mfk.
Wish I would recive pictures on a more regular basis so that I could enlarge my contribution to it.

I took a buddy out who has been wanting to get into kayak fishing.

We hit up one of my spots. Im geared up for triggers per the wifes request. Im catching them two at a time but they are all about a half in short but one.

Meanwhile he is hammering the nice red snapper.

He got bored of that so he puts out a flat line with a half dead hard when after a minute or so all hell breaks loose. Let me tell you that seeing a big sailfish tail walk just feet from you at eye level has to be one of the top experiences one can have while fishing. After being towed about a half mile and fighting the fish for thirty minutes he lands this NICE sailfish. Not bad for only his second trip kayak fishing.
