No freshwater fishing yet. The trout aren't doing much yet here in cape may county. Landed my first striper off the beach yesterday throwing surf clam. No keepers. One at 18", one at 24".

set my crawdad trap i made for the first time last night in a small creek on the road i live on, was hoping to get a couple but no such luck. 3 little bluegills no craws

Pictures as promised.

I caught this sunfish in the cast net on 4/15. He had a hole all the way through him where we always just about put our hooks. I have never seen anyone else fish bluegills around this area. just us. I assume this bastard got away last year and hung around.

From Lastnight:
16.46 lb flathead

12.3 lb channel

And the Bait tank. I have a RENA xp3 running on it, but will probably shoot for more later on. The container can hold 330 gallons. I try to keep it around the 200 gallon mark. When it rains, I run a pipe from the gutter on the garage through a strainer to give the fish some fresh h20 on a regular basis. There is a valve for water release on the far side that I use for h20 changes. gravels blocks the inside part of the valve so no fish get out.

NIIICE baittank!

awesome bait tank. Does the net reach the bottom ok? Hope you catch something big enough to eat that carp. I assume that flatty was from your discharge? Nice catches no doubt. I dream of the day that I have time to do anything fun again. I do still have a dozen bullheads that I kept over the winter in mine.

wow nice bait tank. I been able to get a couple of brookies so far this year but that's it. We went togue and salmon fishing yesterday but go skunked. To bad to cause we got out there at 4:30 in 45 degree weather in the rain...oh well :)

yea all fish from the discharge. The carp will more than likely be cut up, channels round these parts love them some cut carp. the net reaches the bottom but the lip where the faucet thingie is makes them hard to get sometimes but no big deal. kick the tank and they all scatter to where you can net em. I assume you ment the white one with the wood handle. the blue one is there to clean out floating debris.

Last 2 trips out! FLathead was 87.12 lbs beating current TN State Record

way to go man, nice fish!

hopefully i can get a few of those myself next weekend at Kerr Lake in VA.

Where did you catch the flathead? Ive been to Tennessee a few times for crappie fishing, i might need to go back and use the crappie for bait instead!
