Fishing Season 2k15!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Well, it's been absolute **** trout fishing here for over four months straight. Have been out a dozen times this year and only caught three total, and that was on one day. Opening day is tomorrow though so here's hoping I can hook up with at least one and I'll have some pics to post :).

Been hot over this way. Caught a nice 2.5 lb coho salmon today. Tasty as can be, perfect pan size.

The trout have been elusive over here too. Only had 3 so far this year as well. Picked up 5 rainbows yesterday though; all small. Also fouled a tiny Three-Spined Stickleback.

Ya this year was brutal brutal brutal for trout and salmon. They were all dying off, perfectly healthy fish swimming in circles and floating belly up right near the fisherman, ministry is actually getting off their behinds and looking into it. The thought was that it is a thiamine or vitamin B definciency because of all the alewife this year. No other signs of illness, gills fine, but idk about you but last winter before it closed I had my worst year ever. Anyway, looks to be picking up though, a lot being caught from what I hear, before we know it theyll be back in the lake and well be waiting, yet again. A guy was fishing from the mouth to the bridge where the season is still open last sunday and caught 14 coho off crankbaits. Brought home 2, came back out, brought home another 2, totally illegal but damn was I wishing I had my canoe right about then.

Well, before I inevitably forget again. Opening Day was last Saturday and was great! Not as good as last year (last year was 23) but still good nevertheless. I caught 15 rainbows between 10-14" over the course of 12 hours of nonstop fishing. Caught 7 within the first 20 minutes then spent the next eleven and a half hours searching for the remaining eight. My uncle also caught 12, my dad 5 (including his first brown trout in his life), and my pap 4. Was very nice weather and creek conditions were perfect (other than a the people). Went out the next morning and hiked to a new spot about 0.5 mile into the woods to catch a single rainbow and a 7" smallmouth Bass. Was still worth the walk to me because of how scenic it was. We were taking all picture on my dad's new phone which send very bad quality so I'll post pics later after I upload them on my computer.

Weather has been crap ever since then though. It was in the mid 70s opening day (last) weekend and all this week it's been in the low 30's at night and 50's during the day. Temp in the river has fluctuated 14 degrees in 4 days so those spawning suckers and pike must be pretty confused.

Got a few fish so far this year. Can't get out much the weathers been terrible. I'm going out later today so hopefully I'll get some nice bass ImageUploadedByMonsterAquariaNetwork1429970820.938022.jpg
