Frank Castle Frank Castle I'd love to see an 18" Bullhead but I doubt I ever will! My PB is 14" so I consider that 12"r a pretty nice fish, put up a great fight too.

Awesome. It is early in the morning here in NM; I had to read it twice, five inch Brookie. Cool, good looking out then. We've got a hatchery nearby that specializes in Gila Trout an endangered species here in New Mexico. It is one of my inspirations to keep trout, although I keep Brook trout. These are beautiful fish

Took the day off yesterday to hit my favortie trout stream. Got there and to my surprise I saw a brand new posting there stating this is now classified as a Class A Trout Stream. I knew it had potential to be one since the water is super cold year round. One big thing I noticed with the stream was the water was way higher and the flow was a lot harder then normal. Water temp was super cold. Didnt have a thermometer but the water MAY of been 50 degrees. I wore shorts under my waders which was a bad choice. Water was so cold it was hurting my legs. Started off fishing a few holes that I knew always produced but only got one or two out of each. I think the first three hours I fished I caught 3 which is piss poor compared to normal. Then started fishing it like I've never fished it before and really started picking fish up. Had a mixed bag of wild brownies and bows. Couldn't hook a brookie to make it a trout slam but had a decent day. Did have two fish break me off when they hit and they slammed the bait. I know this stream has a few brownies in the 22-28" range and it left me wondering if they hit it. I ended the day with 13 fis and really had to work for them. Probably missed another 6. This was my first trip there I didn't land over 25 fish.

Fished for brown trout for the first time last weekend in Eastern Oregon. Tried to take photos of neat spotting. Streamers were the ticket, but we got a few on dries as well. Average size was about 17", I was hoping for 20" but my largest was 19.5". Buddy got a 21".

Full moon (or close to it) didn't bother any of us in a local tournament Wednesday night. 7-11pm, smallest weight out of all 13 boats was 4 lbs. he had 3 limit sized bass of 14 inches.

I lost all my keepers due to them jumping and spitting the hook. My buddy and I were 4 oz from 3rd place with only 2 fish. 5 lb and 2 lb 4 oz. Two guys ties for first place at just 13.4 lbs. Both had a limit of 5. And one had big bass of the tournament at 9 lbs 9 oz.

Last week I went solo in the tournament and got 2nd with 3 fish and a weight of 8 lbs 7 oz. 4 lb 8 oz kicker, still wasn't good enough for big bass which was 6 lbs 10 oz. and it was raining for 2 out of the 4 hour tournament.

I'm super jealous of Some of these trout pics. Unfortunately jersey doesn't have many Browns left. All of them had to be euthanized at the hatchery. Will be. A few years until they get the brood stock back up. But lots of smaller rainbows around. Average fish is around 11in. Id love to hook into a monster tho. My personal best was a 22in up in Pulaski, ny last fall

Had a great four days of fishing up on Lake Erie this past weekend plus Monday and Tuesday. This was our first trip of the year so we hauled the boat up Saturday morning only to discover the main lake was rolling 3-5 waves so we fished in Presque Isle Bay instead where the only catch was 9 slab Bluegills. Sunday was the best day of the trip where we fished in about 60 FOW in calm 0.5-1' waves with perfect 42.0°F water both at the surface and at depth because the thermocline hasn't formed yet. That day I caught 3 massive Lake Trout with the smallest and last fish measuring 28" long by 18.5" around and 11.5 pounds. The middle fish was 30" long by 20.15" around and 15.0 pounds. And finally, the largest fish and the first one of the day and year measured a monstrous 35.25" long by 23.75" around and weighed 25.04 pounds! It was astonishing to see a fish that big as our first catch of the year in the big pond and my new goal is to catch a Laker bigger than that by the end of this year. That beastly 25 pounder fought towards the bottom with sheer power and stamina for 10 minutes before I could see it next to the boat and then ran from the net in to other lines each time we got the hoop close to it before finally letting us grab it after another 3-4 minutes. I can safely say it was the best fight I've ever received from a fish, fresh or saltwater, including Musky and small Sharks, and it defends the position of Lakers as my overall favorite species of fish. Moving on from Sunday, Monday we tried the same area for about 2 hours before the 4-6' waves which were tangling our trolling spread forced us to head back to port and dock fish for Bluegills like Saturday. Finally, today (Tuesday) the morning was such bad weather we didn't even bother trying boat fishing so we headed to a west side tributary in hopes of finding a spring sucker run. Instead, I found a nice little hole that still held a few Steelhead from the Fall runs and with no anglers scaring the fish I was able to land two nice Steelies on silver spinners. The first was a heavy, tall fish that was 26" long and 8 pounds and the second was more slender but spent more time out of water than in and took me down 2 pools before I could land it, it measured 24" long and 5 pounds.
