The heat from the earth warms the deeper water more so than shallows or a higher column. When water is at different temps it separates like water and oil. The warmer water also gets the nutrients suspended under the cold and they basically absorb it from the water.....
good to hear.my 3 pbass are in a pond that has a hole 20' deep so fingers crossed. The heat from the earth warms the deeper water more so than shallows or a higher column. i would figure one night of cold could kill. Some times we see oscar die off down here don't know if it is cold or not but the cold is only for maybe 1 week at a time during a cold front.
