There are several areas in Florida that the year round temp. of the ground water remains at or very near 74F. The cichlid grower we visited there near Ft. Lauderdale used water pumped from wells at that temp. This is warm enough for most tropicals. Surface layers of water or very shallow areas with low current will chill but most waterways will provide haven areas.

Too cold for peacock bass I guess, they are all down south
 
Peacocks prefer warmer waters but can tolerate as low as 70F for limited time periods, as to if they can tolerate the Ft. lauderdale area, yes, we caught several.

i would figure one night of cold could kill.
a week i would think it would wipe them all out.

if anything, cover your pond with a thick plastic tarp or liner. That helps keep the heat in.

ya ive heard of the hot spots i was just wondering in general.
and all the pb down there are not in those hot spots.and they cant travel that far.lol

also im not just talking about pb,like are mayans and jewels,jags,oscar coldwater?

pond is way to big for that lol
 
already!?! do you have any rubbermaid tubs you can keep your fish in? 20" is shallow, and they might not make it. good luck!
