no fish is warm blooded....................

Actually, tuna can warm their blood endothermically...

Anyway, we have Tilapia, Plecos, Rio Grande Cichlids, and others that live up in central Tx all year round. We had a cold winter last year (for here) with four days of ice and temps not leaving the 20's, and I'm sure there were some die offs, but nothing was wiped out. The systems where these "warm water" invasives thrive are all spring fed, so pretty much the same temp all year round. The same is true in Florida, where I think springs are a couple of degrees warmer and the climate is too. What a mess (or opportunity for some) this has caused...

jewel cichlids - West African rivers - 75*- 82*
armored catfish - (Hoplos) - Amazon River and tributaries - 65*-85*
..................... - (Plecos) - South America - 70*-80*

clarias catfish - Southeast Asia - 62*-79*

mayan cichlids - Mexico - 64*-93*

All are generally considered tropical.

Is that more like what you wanted?

You have to trap the warm air around the tanks, towels are to porous and a breeze will blow right thru them, even old carpet could be substituted.

Insulate the top of the pond or it will radiate any heat built up during the day. (3 layers of carpet in a framework (bamboo?) so it doesn't fall in).
