i have a six inche tiger oscar and i was wanting to know if i could put a florida gar with it

My oscar and FL gar live together peacefully. I dont see why not. No interest in each other.

The oscar is too aggresive and will spook the gar...your best off having a calm peaceful type of fish....just make sure it wont fit in the gars mouth. Gar's spook easy and that can lead to death if it smashes into the tank walls.

imo thts more true of lepisosteus species, the cubans i have are pretty tolerant of semi-boisterous fish, with the exception of oscars.

Most info will tell you not to have boisterous fish like an Oscar as a tankmate for Gar, but I found out that it can work out well.
My Oscar is very docile and not aggro at all.
He is handfed all the time, as is my Gar.

So it's not advisable, but could work out is your Oscar is sweet.
Wanna take the chance? Or risk?

alot of things that "cant be dont" can alot depends on the indevidual fish...ex. balas, aro and tinfoils with a florida gar...balas and africans...i only had one oscar and it was an *** toward my aro so it had to go...

i have come to a conclusion im going to do it my oscar is way to big to fit in his mouth so i think its time to buy my gar today

I've done it before without any problems. If oscar is 6 inches, the gar should be around 10- 12 inches.
