Flowerhorn growout

anubias or java fern. You can use fishing line and tie the plant to the driftwood. Eventually the plant will attach to the driftwood and grow off of it. I also would hang some pothos to lower nitrates.
Not sure what pothos are. Only fishing line I have is 20lb test lol it’s all I ever use for fish unless I’m in a big river or middle of a lake. Do I tie the roots to around the wood and fasten it with line. There’s actually a small hole in the middle of the wood, could I kind of wedge the roots into there and call it good?

Wedging works for anubias if it already has a large rhizome (the big green part the roots come out of), not so much for Java fern which has weaker roots.
You just have to tie the plant down or weigh it down with another rock, it fixes itself in a few weeks.
Pothos is a type of vine plant often used in aquariums.

look it up. It's a veiny house plant that if you hang it roots in tank grows around your tank. The roots looks really cool in the tank and very beginner friendly.

Not to burst your bubble or anything but I would highly recommend keeping the FH solo. Fish and plants can and will be destroyed/killed just because the FH can. Lol ya may see them in big community tanks but that's only with other fish that get just as big and just as mean if not more so then the FH. FH's are just naturally psychotic fish and are best kept in their own lil asylum without any other "patients" lol.

Caveden Caveden understands me lol. I will start doing more research on fish that I buy before I buy them (I’m not buying anymore fish for a while unless it’s to use as bait or feeders) the flowerhorn I’ve been doing a lot of research on him and yea I do get fed up a lot but I know it’s all to help me.

This thread's been really interesting. I think what works against most fishkeepers is lack of patience. I've also had moments where I wanted to run out and buy fish like a loon, but I tell myself it will be worth it to wait until I can do what's best for the fish. Then I'll end up with a happy, healthy and entertaining finny friend.

When I got my 225 it was the largest tank I'd ever had. I saved up for eight months. Then it was another 8 weeks to cycle...it drove me crazy, anticipating what the tank and fish would look like. Checking chemistry every day was torture just WAITING for it to cycle.

Know what? I'm glad it went the way it did. I have fish that amaze me with their behaviors and interaction, and they are healthy and big. Don't rush anything u don't want to. I got a larger tank primarily because I knew I was getting an Oscar. A 75 or 100 gallon was out of the question, especially since there would be other fish added. 2 1/2 years later he's now a red tank. I don't play the 'minimum tank size' game because you usually end up spending more money buying bigger and bigger tanks trying to keep up.

Quarantine tries my patience too but that's another story.

Nice wall art :)
? thanks. It’s an embarrassing story but since it was brought up I guess I’ll tell it but it’s really short. When I was like 6 years old I was absolutely obsessed with dinosaurs, specifically the movie “land before time” and I was told my grandma was bringing it over to watch it and I was excited and at some point when I was in my room unattended I somehow got a black sharpie and drew “dinosaur eggs” on my wall and it’s been like this ever since ??.
EDIT: I’ve never told anyone this story except family until now lol I’ve never told any ex’s or friends about it so I hope you guys all feel special that you heard the story lol

His front half definitely looks Trimac. Nice looking fish.
Thank you. I agree with that but really want to brighten the pink color to bright red but not sure how to do it. While I was camping bus kok hasn’t got much bigger but it’s a lot thicker and rounded now a lot more than before plus he’s put on about half an inch
