I have a sticky in the Illness section (as well as Flowerhorn section) on treating Hexamita (Spironucleus vortens) with Epsom Salt. Does it cure Hexamita - absolutely, if you catch it early enough while it is still contained in the gastrointestinal system of the fish. Once the parasite becomes systemic and travels to organs, best to treat with Metronidazole.
Please Note: the Epsom salt must be administered to the gut of the fish, not simply added to the water. Adding to the water will only act as a purgative agent, which is only useful for constipated fish.
