Flowerhorn info

Mine's going to be in a 55 by himself for right now until I get the stuff to build my 150. Know anything about breeding them like I heard that I should make the water a little warmer somewhere...

I am sure some FHs do grow that fast... it just shouldn't be expected of every fish. It truly depends on what the cross is. There is genetics involved in the growth rate of these fish. I would love to have one of mine grow that fast... I currently have around 500 fry of my ZZ and my Cyanoguttatum. Out of 300 of my first batch, only 50 or so had a huge size difference over the others. At least twice the size of the next size down... they kind of fall into size groups if you will... about 4 of them at nearly 1.5 months. I am not saying it isn't possible... I have seen this kind of growth before. The fish died very young so I didn't see how large it would have gotten before it slowed down. That flowerhorn's brothers and sisters didn't grow nearly as fast and are still trucking along producing my LFS owner some fry.

As long as mine grow quicker than black piranhas and have long healthy lives, it's all good. Anything special I have to do for breeding?

Candles and cheap wine..
