Flowerhorn tile colour substrate

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Just bought an oase biomaster 850 thermo canister filter for the tank. It's rated for 220 gallons and the tank is 52 gallons so it should be enough filtration.
Nice, yeah that should be plenty. but in the future if you think he may need more, just get a large sponge filter to add. They work great and will help immensely as long as you got them both working.

but thai silks for example also don't have any black pigments.

They do when they are young, pearls take it over and black pigments don't show but there are black pigments in some amount. There are thai silks that fade and look different than normal ones. I will try to find picture of one.

Here is a picture of my tank with light grey tile siliconed in. The lighting in the picture was bad and it does not look that bright in person. So far, I am seeing lots more color out of my fader than my non fader Kamfa. Since this picture I have replaced lighting with much more dimmed down, white lights. Their colors pop agains the black but I am afraid that the lighter bottom is dulling their coloration a bit. The fish have only been on the tank for two weeks though and are very young.
