Today I added 5 table spoon of Rock salt to my Aquarium, and instantly within few moments my FH Turned dark Colour, moved very slowly, all fins like clamped,It appeared lethargic...So I made 20% water change..its OK now..Kindly guide me shall I continue with salt or freshwater..Is this specific to my fish
I add salt on a daily basis for one of my flowerhorns. Hes a big guy and his hump was injured with another fish. It helped so much for gill function and hes very active now. I believe he has an infection on it and is healing.

I never put salt in my tank unless I have to. People put a little bit but I do not unless my fish are sick like ICK, Flesh wounds etc.

Honestly flowerhorns are hardy fish all you need is water a good heater and some food. If he lays on his side or swims weird I would be concerned which my fish was. I rescued mine so I know for a fact he was sick to begin with.

Also I wanted to add why is there an animation on the picture just curious? When you asked if it is original the answer is no. None of these fish are original they're hybrids and man made. The OG are like midas/red devils/ trimacs which a lot are made from.

When I uploaded the pic, the animation came along,I should have undone the tick box it asked

I previously had a koi tank, sum 8 Koi small ones, they died one by one in short duration,it had anchor worm infestation..that time I don't even know what is anchor worm/Ich.But they gave signs flashing the word I know only now..the problem is that the same tank is what I am using for my FH,every time my FH Flashes I am dreaded..they say fishes flash also due to Ph changes and poor water quality not specific to parasite Infections..But I am worried the same fate for my FH,tats y I added some salt to the aquarium, which turned by FH dark colour, and moving very slowly settling at the bottom..I can't kill one more living thing

Did you kill the parasites by using medication? There is an incubation period for them and they can come back if you don't kill the trophites/larvae. I would go to petsmart or any LFS and find some ICK remedy medications most or all work the same and treat the tank. If you have another tank I would put him in there as the time being.

What do you mean FH flashes? Does it rub against rock? For me I caught my ICK early I kept seeing them hit some rock and my drift wood. I saw a few had them and treated the whole tank. Within 2 days most of it was gone. A week later all of it was gone and did a big water change.

Yes Flashing is it scratch the pebbles,Filter some time even Air stone..In India even in Online we don't get good medicines like Anchors away,Cupramine,Dimilin,Pottasium permngnte,Paraguard, nothing is available only medicine I got is Paracidol FW..I treated the tank with hot water and Salt and Paracidol 20m/100 Litres..With no fish inside it..Actual recommended dosage is 10ml/100 litres..I hope the eggs and worm would have got killed..Kindly tell me what medicine you used

That's the medicine I used. Also what you most likely have is ICK! Which will kill your fish soon if left untreated. What you do is I doubt you have a heater since your in India but try to get one and higher the temps to like 86F.

What part of India are you from? My Parents are originally from Hyderabad and live in the states.

So High temps, Salt and medicine if you can get your hands on some. Also do large water changes everyday if you're not using medicine. Also if you have any activated carbon take it out when using any meds it will soak it up and be useless.

I am from Chennai, not far from Hyderabad its hot here like Hyderabad,Here temp is high so no heater use.And one very bad experience around 8years back i used a aquarium heater which killed all my fish overnight, tat time no thermostat in heaters I think, only glass heaters and no double insulation, and no automatic Cut offs..After that I didn't touch a heater till now

Thank you for all your suggestions,I will try my best with it all,Will keep update with photos and pray to god
