Well, it's always like - prevention is better than to cure!
Have you checked the water parameters thoroughly.. ?
Currently I am in the states but I know the water problem in India, As I lived there for 6 years.. I was keeping two FHs in India and one died due to the water fluctuation and when checked the water parameters, it was too late... Also, the salt really helped me / helping me to get rid of the parasites Or any ich/ick, I know many of the guys have had the bad experience with salt.. But I would say, I used the salt since 7 years and no problem with FH Or any other tropical fish..

Well, that's just my opinion and I'm not against any suggestions here.. FH body may reacts differently with the different weather and different water condition.. I agree with advise from Aceon for the treatment he described.. Learning a lot !!.. Thank you Aceon and all the guys here!!

My water is like Powder in water,white/mild yellowish powder..When the water evaporates white powder remains..I asked one aquarist near in my area..He is a happy guy,When I asked him this question,he became sad and replied that in his previous shop water was good, but now I am spending up to 40 water cans, and is expensive..So even there the problem..I think the white deposits are Calcium carbonate,Phosphate and minerals like that..When I use that water all my aquarium glass, pebbles, filter have deposits, and is strong stained..I have to keep on scratching with algae remover and Vinegar to luckylily take some stains and other stains remain..Some say the water hardness is high, and one more opinion is FH likes hard water and alkaline ph..water..and can water and RO Water is acidic/soft water..Tats why I confused and hesitating to use RO/Can water for my FH..Thanks in advance

I keep my fella in ph 8.2 bit hard, and I use the seachem water conditioner to dechlorine the water and all water parameters looks great.. I do not use anything or chemicals to lower the ph, but I guess the driftwood helps to normalise the water, if u want to lower the ph. Thats just me, May u need to have the freshwater kit by API which has ammonia , nitrate, and nitrite, low and high level ph test . Its good kit to test accuracy of water..

Thanks for the kind words! Most knowledge I gain was from experience being in the hobby since I was a kid. There is an incubation period for the trophites(bugs) so you can treat it with salt and high heat but they live off a host not always a fish. Your decorations to substrate can be affected so water changes are necessary. The meds are crucial due to they actually suffocate and die from it.

Yes please check the water as well that's a good point I only checked mine once when I started my tank like 8 years ago so I can add fish. My wife went to school in Bangalore she got her mbbs from there. She originally from Hyderabad though. Planning to go in a year or two might find some flowerhorn for cheap and ship them here. How many rupees did you spend on your fish?

Okay since this sounds like water quality issues you need to find or get a filter for water before entering your water in the tank. You know rain water might be your best bet and filter it before you put it back. I do know the water in India so I can tell you it's best if you use rain water. Put buckets outside and collect it and filter it good. You can get purified water but I know how expensive that is.

My tank is very cloudy after water change, after 5 to 6 days clears up..but i find these sand like powders in over head fiter spong, everything sediments in sponge..my question is can i take it out and put new sponge?Concerned about beneficial bacteria in the filter..and can I use RO Water in Tank?Is can water OK for FH?thank you

I had five options before me five FH almost all of same size..in five glass dividers..One kamfa variety, one was SRD..I will put one I missed
