Wait till you get to coral...

You can get a 500+ gallon tank for the amount of corals I have...

bruh i dropped 300 on my fw 10 gal am i missing something here

I think you could really spend as much as you want in terms of equipment and decor. Buying top of the line from a spec standpoint versus building your own in-tank sump. The recommended light upgrade for this SW is a AI prime 16HD which is $250 alone. Then going with a bare bottom versus live sand, plants and driftwood. (I had a velvet outbreak in my FW and lost all my plants due to the meds and had to re-aquascape a whole 125g. And as deadeye mentioned you can spend an ungodly amount of money in such a small space with coral it doesn’t make sense. But I won’t lie I expect you to have a very nice 10gallon FW ?

Wait till your first coral...
I thought the same thing until I got my first leather.
Yesterday I picked up a baseball sized elegance...

Deadeye Deadeye did you do any Zoanthids?
Yeah. I was reluctant at first cause of palytoxin, but eventually caved. Too beautiful not to get a few. I have 4 zoa species and 2 paly species, I’ll probably get more too. Palytoxin isn’t much of a worry as long as you are careful (really only an issue when fragging, but I don’t plan on fragging them).

yes it has me paranoid a bit lol but the lfs owner was pretty convinced only the larger polys are a considerable threat when it comes to having your hands in the water. Basically said just don’t put your hands in with cuts or suck on your fingers after, wash hands etc but he touched 4 or 5 in front of me and just splashed his fingers in the water and went on with his day

As long as you don’t piss the zoas off it should be good. The effects usually aren’t terrible. When I first got zoas I remember having a metallic taste in my mouth and a cough for the rest of the day, most likely palytoxin. No bad effects though. Better safe than sorry, wear a mask and gloves when dealing with them.
