better and cheaper! I got packs of 6 for $1.50. And the polishing pads clog quickly, use them only when you have cloudy water or you'll have to clean them out frequently...

I use pot scrubbers in the top two slots and Seachem's Matrix bio media in the bottom tray. I think I get 9 in each tray. 5 in a row down the middle on edge, and 2 on each side on edge.

pot scrubbers are the things used to scrub pots...lol. But they work great for biofiltration, since they have big surface area. And dirt cheap.

Also, how do you stack them? vertical or horizontal?

I stacked my vertical and use a dozen pot scrubbies for a tray. I am wondering if that is not too much though.
