So alot of you guys dont use anything else in the three trays but scrubbies?? Shouldn't you use something else in atleast 1 of the trays?
Everything I've ever read is that Pot scrubbies are a waste of space in a canister and are only super effective in a wet/dry. You'll be wasting the effectiveness of the Fx5 by using them. Spend the extra dollars and go with Biomax. Otherwise, what did you buy an Fx5 for, looks?
Pot scrubbies aren't a waste of space, they're just far less effcient than the different commercial filter materials.
Can you give me the exact name and amount of it that i should put in each canister?? I was about to get those scrubbies until i read your reply

Oh you used it in all 3 trays? I thought you were suppose to use something different in each tray.
All three for me! But the Fx5 isn't the only filter running on my tank so that's why. Super effective mechanical and bio is all I need mine for!
NO ! Cheaper yes better for submerged bio not by a long shot as far as surface area. Scrubbies are great at wet dry but not as good at submerged bio when compared to the usual ceramic rings.
