Hydrochloric Acid is used in pools the lower the pH. At least in my mates 70,000 litre pool anyway. We onced used it to break down various BONES of animals. In a test container a small 3-4" chicken wing bone, and barely filled with H. Acid, it completely decintagrated the bone in a few hours. Imagine the effect on a mealworm containing nothing but juices and protiens.
Back on topic.
I regulary feed my angels live house flies. Suprisingly enough, they are quite nutritious

Feed your oscar bloodworms BTW. Just get the frozen cubes and toss them in.

I say start small (about 1" meals) and work your way up. what ever fits in their mouth is what they will eat.
Also if you like to watch them eat, then smaller pc for more feedings
