Mealworms and superworms are both larvae of beetles; technically they are not worms. Their exoskeleton is identical, and cannot protect them from hydrochloric acid. Any insect would be killed by the concentrated hydrochloric acid and enzymes in a fish's/reptile's stomach. If you don't believe me, try getting a bottle of concentrated acid and pour a few drops on a mealworm or superworm. Tell me what happens.controlfreak1762;1278210; said:meal worms cannot...super worms can. i have seen it happen a few times. i have a frozen bearded dragon with a hole in his stomach from a super worm.
