aybb is right ive seen it happen with mealworms it doesn't happen all time i would say more like 1 out of every 30 but thats still a good enough odd for me not to try it
Come on seriously, you have witnessed a mealworm eat its way to freedom from the stomach of a fish? I say BS. My fish are regularly fed mealys and i havent ever had a problem with this. Plus once the fish captures the mealworm it doesnt just swallow it whole, it is first chewed up(thats why when fish eat particles come out of their gills). Then, if the worm ends up having some serious ninja skills and manages to dodge all the teeth that are in the fishes throat and then proceeds to make it way down to the fishes stomach, (ninja skills or not) the mealworm will be destroyed by the acids and such that are in the stomach. So come on bro, a mealworm cant possibly burrow a hole out of a fishes stomach. Its total bologna.

hey man i can only say what i saw i didnt think it could happen either but then i saw a fish dead at work with a worm hanging out the side of his stomach still alive ????

You must have been seeing things, because it is absolutely impossible, unless that particular mealworm was impervious to the teeth and acids and enzymes of the fish, which is even more impossible.reptech420;1275476; said:
no it definately can happen. i can 3rd this. i have seen it a few times. it happens MUCH more frequently in reptiles and birds. but it CAN happen. the odds are probably like 1 in every 5,000, nonetheless it CAN happen.
