Does anyone know whats better or how to do this?

Would depend what kind of fish and what you're wanting to feed them. Easiest live foods are probably mealworms and whiteworms in my experience.

Dubia roaches and Canadian nightcrawlers are what I use. Crickets are a poor feeder and dear lord they are terrible to raise. Feeder fish you raise would be a pain and the ones from the store would be asking for parasites.

Dubias have a long digestive tract perfect for a good gutload. Red wigglers secrete a yellow slime that might be rejected but Canadian nightcrawlers are perfect. I'd throw some veggies in to for the omnivores
